  8. Finally I cannot believe it! I have a date I am so excited and so nervous I feel as if I may throw up. I went to see my surgeon yesterday 12/5/07 and his assistant came in to go through some information. And then she said when would you like to schedule your surgery? And being anxious I say, as soon as possible. Then she says how about Dec 11th? I was like okay. Then my whole body went flush I was so super excited!! I cannot believe in less then 1 week I will "officially"be a bandster :waytogo: December 11th at 7:00 am is when the prep time begins. When yall had your surgery how long was the prep time before the actual surgery? Just curious. I have never had any major surgery before. I had a c-section w/ my daughter but I was awake w/ the epideral. And with my vena-cava filter implant I was still awake. LoL. So I have no idea what to expect. What was the pain like for yall Sorry for the questions. I am just super nervous and have so much to do Hugs to all Melissa =) :whoo::clap2::ranger:
  9. Hey Yall Was wondering if anyone purchased a medic alert bracelet after getting the lapband? If you did what did you put on the bracelet to let someone know about your band? As in what words? Sorry for the silly question. Just was wondering is all. Thanks so much, Melissa =)
  10. How is everyone today? I am super EXCITED!!! I just got approval from my insurance company. I have an EGD on the 28th of Nov. Then Nutrition class and pre-op testing on the 3rd of December then meet w/ the surgeon on the 5th of December to set surgery date. The last time I was at the doctors which was 25th of October and then I had a BMI of 57. I read your posts and I get such hope. I cannot wait I am so nervous. I have been reading up on everything. My lapband journey started this March 2007. I cannot believe it is actually going to happen. What did yall do when you finally realize that it was going to really happen? Are there any words of wisdom you have for me? Also are there any specific things that you could not have lived w/o during the hospital stay? anything you suggests after surgery? I have tons of questions. Also if you have youtube check out my videos there. My name on there is itcomputerchick. I was super nervous on those videos Have a blessed day everyone Melissa =)
  11. Hey Yall So glad to read about all your goals that is awesome. Yall are such inspirations to me. I finally realize that I am not alone that there are people out there well over the 300 mark and have a long way to go just like me. I have been researching the band for about a year. Had to get insurance through hubbys job so waited to late March for the journey to begin. Went to the seminar jumped through all the hoops. And last week my surgeon office calls me to inform me that he is no longer doing wls. Small set back I hope. I got on the phone that minute called insurance and asked who else was covered close to my area or atleast in GA LoL. Well they found me one about 40 miles away, not too bad. Plus the hospital is one of the best in GA Emory. Anyway I have to attend this new doctors seminar Dr. Edward Lin. I sure hope that all my test will be transferrable so to speak. Because I would so hate to have to do this all over again. I have Aetna PPO insurance so I am not sure what to expect with them. I have 1 more test to do that is a chest xray for my pulmonary doctor. I sure hope that is all. Reading all your post I cannot wait to be among the living. I have been overweight all my life. I just cant imagine being "normal" whatever that is. But I am sure willing to give it a try. Sorry for such a long post. Thought some of you would have any welcoming advice? I would so enjoy that. Oh and CONGRATS to all yall melissa =)
