    4 Months Out

Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I agree that I see my face is smaller and my husband says my breast are smaller. But I still don't see it. I think I am just having one of those weeks were I'm pretty down. Nothing seems to fit me. My closet is empty. Food nothing sounds good to eat. Maybe its my new way of deali g with stress. But I normally feel amazing and love the new me. Jut can't wait for the end of my journey. But I really appreciate all the great comments.
  6. Date of surgery April 16, 2012 Starting weight 290 Surgery weight 281 Current weight 210
  7. So I don't notice the difference most of the time until I put on clothes that no longer fit. However when I look in the mirror I still look at myself and see the fat girl. I am a nurse and have had to finally go get new scrubs because the old ones were falling off me. When I did this I thought I only went down one size and no I went down two. I am 4 months and a week post op. i have lost 72 pounds and so close to being in the 100 mark. I have struggled at times with eating. I have not had any trouble eating anything. Nothing makes me sick to my stomach or har the runs. Sometimes I wonder of this is all really true and if they really did the surgery. And then I take the one bite to many and it hurts. At that point I know it is really sleeved. I dance hula and have fr about a year. I danced it at 281 pounds and am still doing it now at 210. We had a big performance this past weekend and I really noticed for the first time I am skinner. I have to day this is definitely a journey I thought I was ready for but realized that it has so many challenges that I wasn't expecting. Or example gettin my water In when I'm working out or dancing and am completely thirsty and water is not helping it. So some things I have learned. • don't overeat at any time it hurts real bad • work out and it helps with the skin mine is going in not fast but it is. • don't do it the wrong way. Follow your surgeons plans and diet they have to for a reason. I have a friend that did the sleeve and then took diet pills to loose it faster and didn't work out. But followed the diet and lost 150 pounds in 10 month but has a ton of excess skin. • no matter what you see the people around you notice even if they don't say anything. • the best feeling is know that this saved the rest of your life. • when you put on clothes 2 sizes smaller you will feel amazing. Especially when you haven't been that size in years. I hope this helps some one. I read a lot of post on here and don't respond a lot but I have gotten a lot of positive feelings form them. And know that I have done the right thing and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for taking the time to read this. One year ago at a performance This past Saturday

    Night Shift

Bethnc1970- I eat a lot of beef jerky now. But when I was on soft or puréed I would make my meals and put them in small containers and take them. I still am struggling to get my protein in. But that is all I eat at work. I take left overs from dinner or frozen hamburger patty and eat half at one sitting then the other half at another. Thing like that.

    Night Shift

Ready4success- returning back to work depends on person to person. I have an amazing crew of co workers that understood that I couldn't do heavy lifting, like pulling patients ect. That is the only reason I was able to go back to work that soon. Thanks for the complement. I feel that if you have the want bad enough you will make it work for you. I do not use energy drink or coffee. I think my workouts in the morning help.

    Night Shift

Hello all. I am a night shift nurse in the ER. I went back to work 1.5 weeks after surgery. I Was skewed in April 16. I starting weight was 290. Now weighing in at 226. I and super happy with the results. I have a cup of Water at my desk full at all times. Every time I walk by I take a sip. Thy helps with hydration. Also after every assessment or procedure I take a sip. Now there are some nights that get super busy with traumas that prevent that. But I am able to most nights. Also I work 11p-7a monday through friday. So I eat a meal right before I go in and then eat something small Protein at about 1-130. Then again at 3-330 again at 5-6. Then I I also go to the gym right after I get off Tuesday through Saturday. I have a very busy evening life withy daughter and myself dancing so I get roughly 5-6 hours. But have a lot more energy now than before. Hope this helps. Sorry this is so long Before Current
  13. Sorry guys my husband got on and thought it would be funny to write something.
  14. I have found that milk of mylanta works. It is horrible tasting but I take it 2-3 times a week and have a good sized bm each time. Never feel backed up or anything.
  15. I know the same feeling I am 8 weeks post op and I stalled at 4 week out for 2 weeks. Did you take measurements before surgery. The one thing I noticed was that when I was stalled I was loosing inches. Didn't loose pounds but lost inches. Then I started eating 5 small meals per recommendation of my doctor and the ponds starte falling off again. So I know how frustrating it is and how you feel. I thought I was doing something wrong and that I had done this for no good reason. It will get better, your body has to catch up to the weight Loss.
