  1. Went to the doctor for my first post op fill since my surgery, but he opted not to do an adjustment on me since I have lost 26lbs since my surgery! Woohoo!! Hope things progress this well in the next month!!

    Yay 2 Week Check Up

    Thanks!!
  3. Yay! Just went for my 2 week post op check up and I have lost 6lbs. My doctor said 2lbs a weeks is typical so I'm doing good. I'm so happy!! Yay!!!
  4. Well today I have been a different person!! Up until now I have been weak and 'sickly'. But even my voice is stronger today. I have managed to drink a whole pint of sweet tea as well as some juice and my mom made me some potato soup that I was able to get a few spoon fulls down :-D. That is a major improvement over the barely holding down water the past 4 days. I agree, it is amazing how different everyone is!!! I just hope we all have great success. I know I have lost over 30lbs in the past 20 days from just being on my protein shakes. I am now looking forward to my mushy days!!! Only 5 more days until then!!!

    Swimming???

    Ok thanks Jenn
  6. Today is day 5 for me and the first day I have been able to have more than a shot glass of fluid without being super sick!! It has been so nice!! :-)
  7. Going out of town this weekend and I was banded last Friday. What were the rules on getting in a pool for a little light exercise??? My small incisions have nearly healed up and I have every intentions of bandaging up my port site with waterproof bandages. My doc is out of the office so I can't call and ask him about this. Plus I have yet been Able to get his nurse on the phone and I head out tomorrow. Any input would help!!!

    Bad Breath

Yes to BOTH!!! I can't seem to brush my teeth enough. As for the BM issue, I've noticed that from day 1. I describe it to my mom as the 'sick person' smell :-(.
  9. I have caught a little flack for getting the band because I lost 100lbs prior to having my Lapband. I like u had decided I was going to keep it a secret in regards to who all I was going to tell, but I decided to heck with that. And so far the response has been 100% great. I even had this devious plan to drop a ton of weight and flaunt it in front of the one exboyfriend that had ever made me feel bad about myself!!! LOL long story short I ended up telling him about the surgery pre op and he has been one of my biggest cheerleaders!!! :-). I'm hoping all works out well for u! I think we all know better than most how cruel people can be when it comes to a situation such as this. They view it as the easy way out and believe me, NOTHING has been easy about the journey to get here!!!!
  10. After the initial swelling from the surgery goes down, are u able to drink fluids more freely??? I feel so thirsty since I was banded but because of the swelling from the surgery I am not able to drink like I am used too. I know all the info I studied ahead if time showed fluids moving thru my stoma into my stomach freely. Am I understanding this correctly???

    Air In Shoulders And Chest

I think I the gas from the surgery has finally worked most of itself out, now I just have an issue with belching. It seems like I am full of gas in my chest. Could this still be from the surgery??? I was banded on 5/25/12. I purchased every pack of GasX strips that Walgreens had in stock today. Hoping they kick in soon and start to ease this up. Any input on what's causing this would be appreciated tho!!!

    Just The Hospital Fees

My total Hospital bill was around $29,000. To which I only paid $355. I have yet to receive the bill from my doctor or my anesthesiologist since i just had the surgery done on 5/25. The hospital billed me up front!! Luckily I have a primary and a secondary insurance that will go towards my bills.

    Sleeping In Bed

I wad banded on 5/25/12 and so far I can only sleep on my right side in the bed. I too am like u, when I lay on my back I feel pressure like something is on my chest. Because of this I split my time between the bed and the recliner. Unfortunately I had knee surgery a month before I was banded so I am used to the sleeping in the recliner :-(

    New To This

I am guess Saturday night was my worse night. I did the spitting up thing maybe twice. I am able to keep my juice and water down. So far this morning I am on my second cup of juice. I am using a sippy cup to keep me from guzzling my drink down
