Thanks y'all!!! I appreciate your input so much. You know what you're talking about...I don't know what I would do without this forum.

I know I won't get my first fill for 6 weeks post-op. I keep thinking that I don't want to move on to "real" food before the fill, I don't know that I want to try to trust myself around food...and I also want to lose as much as possible on my own, is that crazy? In my mind, I can stay on Protein and mooshy stuff until then. Being totally new to this and 2 weeks pre-op, I need your wisdom and guidance

OMG I can't watch! no way no how and no one can make me look!! LOL!!

Thanks! I will talk to my dietician and see what she says, I go to a support seminar on Monday and I'm sure I'll get more information then also.

You're doing great!!! It sounds like you'll be more than ready on surgery day

Welcome! I'm pretty new and I the DFW area, my surgery is June 20th. Stay in touch, these boards are amazing!

In two weeks I will have my band. I have a list of things to do before, a list of things to take to the surgery center, but it just doesn't seem real at all yet, it hasn't hit me or something. I will hear from the nurse next Friday, other than that I am on my own...meaning I won't see the Doctor until I get prepped, and he's ready to play ball! I don't know how I feel, maybe I don't feel much of anything right now. I'm excited yes, but other than that I am kind of numb. I'm sure next week will be different...we'll see.

My date with the band is the 20th:) and I'm a TR patient as well, good luck and keep updating.

My day is June 20th as well!

I decided to not tell everyone I know about my surgery. I know people mean well, but I know negative comments will bother me and I need to stay positive. I told my closest friend, she was supportive and very happy for me, her input is one I respect so it was a good feeling to be able to talk about my decision. My family has been great, but my MIL is wanting me to re-schedule surgery because a big family affair is going to be 2 days later. I do understand, she said she will be worried about me and doesn't want to have that looming over her head...but I'm going forward. After talking with my boss, who was also very sweet and supportive, we both decided that my original date works best for both of us, so I have to tell my MI and she will not be happy but it will be fine. June 20th...that is just three weeks from yesterday...insert happy dance here

If this has been included in another thread, please post the link, but if not...for us Newbies, what are some things you wish you'd known before surgery, or just during the process in general. Thanks so much everyone, the information and support in this forum is AMAZING!

I will start my pre-op diet next week, so I'm thinking of what foods I want to have before then...I decided the biggie is steak, must have that at least once I will miss steak the most.

I love that place:) -
I had a similar thought today. I was in a clothing store and as I passed by the misses sizes, I had to stop and look at the clothes, I picked up a cute dress size 10 and it looked teeny tiny! I just stood there staring...even thinking of a size 14 is daunting. I'm looking forward to reading others input on this also.

I really like her, I hope she can do it this time, and I love how honest and real she was about the band. -
Debbi221: Good info about the straw, I hadn't thought of that. Andi525: How are you doing?

I think it's wise of you, and it will be the truth, there is no magic wand...we have to work at it. The weight loss will be obvious, but so will the positive lifestyle changes I'm looking forward to this journey. Good luck to you too!!

Dee, I agree, I can totally see certain people watching every bite and every sip...I'm keeping it to myself and a small group of family and very close friends.
