My primary care doctor has been on my case to control my disease. I have prehypertension and am obese. He says people don't think of these as diseases because you dont catch or spead them, but that they can kill me if left untreated. Fast forward to a couple months ago, my work place heath fair was doing the health assessments and said many of my readings for blood work and blood pressure are on on the higher end of normal and that my BMI is now extremely obese (35.2), she explained that while I dress nice and keep well groomed that I still look sloppy due to my wieght. She asked if I was advancing my career as fast as I think I should. I answered no. She said the weight is holding me back. She said imagine wearing a neck to knee length jacket and straping 90 bottle of water (16.9 oz bottle sitting on the table) Pretty much while it sounds mean, she was nice about it, but it hit me like a ton of bricks that something needs to be done. My weight is holding back my sucess and happiness, and in the future probably health. It is no wonder the few times I took the stairs to the 7th floor at work that my legs feel like jello and I have to sit 15 minutes to wipe sweat and catch my breath before I can function to do work. For the record As an experiment I went to Sams and got three cases of water, I can't carry them up the stairs in one trip, and that is how much extra wieght my body has. I am attempting to get approved for the sleeve. Wish me luck!
