Congratulations. I think that we could definitely use more stories and updates from high BMI folks - a huge help for others following in your path! Sounds like you are off to a great start. -

No sugar added fudgescicle is my vote! -
I had a brow lift, lower bleph, and necklift about 7 weeks ago. I had the coronal incision for the brow lift - from ear to ear over the top of the head. I'm very happy with the results. I hope your recovery goes well!!

Congrats!! No better way to celebrate than with a great workout!

Best Before and After photos...?
It's all new replied to PeacockMama's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I will post at some point. I just got a TT and thigh lift. 7 weeks ago a face lift. And a lift and augmentation is in my future but I'm not sure how long I will wait. I've had some complications from the most recent surgery (probably from the pain meds.) and my family is pretty unwilling for me to go under the knife again very soon. I didn't manage to get rid of my stretch marks on my tummy, but I am still happy with how it looks thus far. -
TUMMY TUCK TOMORROW MORNING
It's all new replied to frumpynomore's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thank you It's all new! You just had a TT and thigh lift 2 weeks ago? Good for you! I think my next cosmetic surgery will be my thighs. I keep changing my mind on which surgery will be next. I can't imagine doing them at the same time. Which type of thigh lift did you have? I hope you are doing well and I wish you a speedy recovery. Please post after pictures for all of us I will definitely post before/during/after photos. I had a medial thigh lift. The incisions are from the front - starting at the top of the outside of the pubic area, along where the inner thigh panty line would be, to the back underneath the entire natural line of underneath the buttock. Then there is an incision going straight down the inside of the thigh about halfway down the upper thigh. There is no sitting at all for the first two weeks after surgery - other than in the car to and from the surgeon's, and once I got in I reclined my seat as quick as I could. I also had a hospital bed (a free service) which helped. And then for the following 4 weeks sitting is discouraged. At two weeks there is NO way I want to sit. The incisions are too painful still. I have had some complications following my surgery from an unknown cause - I haven't been able to hydrate properly or get in nutrients or calories. I will be getting a feeding tube in... 2 1/2 hours. I am in the hospital now. As far as having them at the same time, I think it was worth it. The tummy tuck was the hardest for the first 5 days, then the pain subsided enough that the thigh lift seemed more painful. Of course, if I could have somehow avoided the complications by having split the surgeries that would change my answer. But I don't think that is the problem. -
TUMMY TUCK TOMORROW MORNING

Wow - I think you have your swimsuit model tummy. It looks fantastic. You are so lucky - it looks like you escaped without stretch marks even. Very impressive. I just had a tummy tuck and thigh lift two weeks ago and have a lot of swelling. It's great to see what a difference there is in so little time. Congrats on a new you! -
tummy tuck vs lower body lift
It's all new replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Absolutely I will - I took the 'befores' and I will retake at 2 weeks post op and then at 6 and then post. I was in no shape right after surgery to take photos! -
tummy tuck vs lower body lift
It's all new replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I went for the extended tummy tuck. It doesn't connect for 5" in the center of my back but goes all the way around otherwise. I think she did lipo of my flanks to get the best result possible in that area. I had a thigh lift at the same time. I am 12 days postop. I lost 115 lbs and that was the best surgery to address the wreckage. If I needed more help in the tush area I would have gone all the way around. I do think the recovery would be similar either way. -
Notes on Mexico Jerselem hospital
It's all new replied to reginator17's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was at this clinic with my husband at the end of January '13. The conditions are exactly as described. It was horrendous. I was sleeved in the US and was struck by the many contrasts. I have heard wonderful things about other surgeons in Tijuana - but I recommend that folks avoid this place like the plague. -

Dehydration and when to go to the hospital

Edited: (Long tirade removed). Sorry for the off topic conflict. There I went adding to the exact thing I can't stand around here. Perhaps I misread the tone. Other than to re-emphasize my original point and return to topic, I'll cease and desist! -
Dehydration and when to go to the hospital
It's all new replied to SeriouslyChange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel like a big old Scrooge for this upsetting me and excuse it if you can - but this isn't a light topic and probably we should focus on the issue at hand. I went through a dehydration issue with a family member who was certainly getting more than 4-8 ozs a day, but still by the time I got her to go to the hospital she was in kidney failure due to the dehydration. She remained in the hospital for weeks trying to get her kidneys to function properly. My brother was present for part of the time - he is a physician. The problem is that all of those tricks for assessing dehydration at home turn out to be pretty ineffective. Skin pinching, looking at the tongue, looking at the pee - it's a crapshoot and you could be in real trouble. Also, when your kidneys start to fail you lose your judgement and start to have confusion than can present very subtly. You won't recognize it and the people around you may not either - even those who are looking out for problems! So, watch the Superbowl, eat what you want, I am going to continue to feel like a Scrooge and say quit messing around with something that can be so serious and get some help. -
anyone have a neck lift?
It's all new replied to katieboo's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
The necklift portion of the procedure had incisions around my ears and one under my chin. The incision under my chin was never very painful, whatever they did with pulling up the skin around the ears hurt like he!!. I also had a coronal incision for my brow lift that went from ear to ear over the top of my head, and of course incisions under both eyes for the lower eyelid lift. The before photos are from the night before the procedure, no make-up, and I looked a hot mess - I honestly didn't always look that bad!! The first after shot is that night after 11.5 hours of surgery. The most recent photo is one month post op. I tried to attach a photo that gives some idea of my new jawline. Hope this helps! Edit: Forgot to add - as far as downtime goes... I think because I had all three procedure done at once my downtime was longer than most. The first week was very difficult, I drove for the first time on the eight day to have a brief coffee with a friend, and slowly resumed activities until at a month I'm feeling much improved. I didn't respond very well to the pain meds, didn't get much relief, but that is quite unusual I think. I would have felt well enough to return to a desk job about 10-14 days out. It's in the last few days that the pain doesn't wake me up at night whatsoever. I would be cleared fully for exercise at six weeks, except at five weeks I'm having a tummy tuck and thigh lift. -
Dehydration and when to go to the hospital
It's all new replied to SeriouslyChange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You likely will not be admitted for dehydration but nonetheless have no choice but to get in if you are not able to hydrate sufficiently. IV fluids are probably necessary. If you are asking you need to go. Please get yourself in, dehydration can cause kidney failure. -
anyone have a neck lift?
It's all new replied to katieboo's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had a neck lift on Dec 31 2012. At the same time I had a lower eyelid lift and brow lift. The cost for just the neck lift was 7500 plus anesthesia - I'm guessing the necklift portion of the anesthesia to be another 1500. I had my surgery in the Seattle area. I am sure there are less expensive surgeons out there and certainly less expensive markets - but I thought my surgeon was amazing. I will be having my tummy tuck and thigh lift with the same doctor in a few days. As far as my results go, I couldn't be happier. -

Is losing 5% of your weight on surgery every month normal or less !
It's all new replied to indian's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don't know if you are doing anything wrong or not as you didn't say anything about your diet, exercise, water intake - daily grams of protein, carbs or fat. However, your weight loss is quite good. It's hard to know if you are losing faster than you should be, honestly. It would be more helpful to know lbs lost in each month rather than an overall average. The first month is usually a high number, it ought to slow down after that. 10 lbs per month is usually considered quite good after the first month. You may be a fast loser. Are you male or female? . Men are more likely to lose fast. But essentially, you are losing quite quickly. Your worry is probably unwarranted. But only you know about your eating and exercise habits! Good luck. I have heard a saying about this being a marathon and not a race - its true. -

Yes. Yes. Yes! What?? I was just answering the question. Oh the O's! I thought I was doing fine before surgery - but apparently I wasn't! I think this surgery was worth it just for better sex.
