    Huge Stall!

My "three week stall" started at two weeks and lasted almost 5 weeks even though I was exercising, getting protein, water, etc. And then I lost 15 lbs very quickly and the scale is still moving, just not quite as fast. Just give it time, it WILL happen if you follow the guidelines.

    Stomach

I had terrible itching too - a reaction to the tape and also itching around my belly button where they pulled out the remnant. Crazy. I also got a yeast infection on my skin around where the bandages were and had to take medication to get it to go away. Good luck, I hope it gets better soon!

  8. I've lost almost 50 lbs in the past 10 weeks. I've started exercising - walking, Water aerobics, elliptical, and strength training with a personal trainer. I have a lot of back pain during the day, just doing regular activities that were not painful pre-surgery. It does not seem like I'm over-exercising. I imagine this happens to other people as they lose weight rapidly? If so, how did you get your back to cooperate with your new life, and how long did it take to get on track again?

    Back Pain Remedies?

Thanks for all your ideas! It sounds like there are several good options. I am pretty sure a massage would help, but I'm also sure it will hurt (temporarily). My massage therapist is hard core, and I somewhat avoid going just because I know it will hurt! I need to quit being a baby, buck up, and think about the long term improvement instead of the short term pain.

    Super Excited

Keep with it, it will happen! I know someone who used a prescription medication (not sure what it was...) to help her quit, and she said it really helped. Might be worth asking about? Good luck!

    Carbs

    Thanks!

    Carbs

I read quite a bit about low carbs, and people usually mention 20-30 carbs. Does anyone know if it is bad to have fewer than 20 carbs daily? I usually work out an hour daily, as much as two hours and as few as 45 minutes. It is at a moderate intensity. My diet is often only and egg, a quarter cup of shredded cheese, meat and a Protein Drink or 1 1/2 Protein Drinks. I can only have 1 1/2 ounces of meat for a meal, so it isn't possible to fit much more in. I sometimes get extra carbs if I have chili, or I VERY occasionally have a wasa cracker with Peanut Butter. I get 500-600 calories daily. I am 10 weeks out. Thanks for any advice!

    No Longer Obese

Hard work has paid off! That is great, congrats.
  17. My experience was that it eventually moved. I stalled for over a month at about three weeks after surgery. I stuck to exercising and eating as recommended. Eventually the weight started coming off - 12 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I feel better knowing I always stuck with my plan, and it finally paid off! Keep at it!
  18. That is amazing. Congrats!

    May Sleevers...

I started at 255 a week before surgery, 245 the day of surgery, and 209 today. I had a month long stall followed by losing 12 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I guess that is my reward for sticking with the plan through the stall! My surgery was May 10th.

    4 1/2 Months And 60 Pounds Pics

That is awesome - you look great! My starting weight was 255 and my goal is the same as yours, so I'm hoping to follow right behind you!
  21. It has been 8 weeks and 5 days since my surgery. Today I found out that after being on vacation for the past nine days I lost a pound for every day I was gone. That means that my month long stall is OVER!!! Hip hip hooray! Today I flew on a plane. Previous to surgery I was pretty sure I would need an extender - today I had about 7-8 extra inches of seat belt And, I have lost 40% of my excess weight in a little under 9 weeks. I still have a ways to go - 65 more lbs, but I feel like it is going to happen. Happy happy day to everyone!
