Halloween Contest October 31 2012
It's all new replied to sexyme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Starting weight 189.7 CW 187 GW 172 I didn't do as well this week as I might have - but it wasn't for lack of effort. I will just stick with the program and hope for better results next week! -
Whats On Your Bucket List?
It's all new replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to join Facebook and post pictures of my life without thinking about my weight. When I reach goal I WILL do it. I want to be fit. Very fit. I'm working on that now and with time it will only get better. I want to start dating again... at some point. Maybe after goal, maybe after plastics, and then again - maybe tomorrow. -

Anyone Start At 240Ish Lbs?
It's all new replied to PiggyPantsPaige's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I started at 255 one week preop, had the surgery at 245 on May 10, 2012. I currently weigh 186. I am exercising an hour or so six days per week, and eating 550-650 calories most days. I keep my carbs pretty low, 20-30 unless I exercise for more than two hours in which case I increase my carbs to 40ish. I've been very happy with my progress although I'm sure others have lost at a faster pace. You can definitely have great success! -

How Many Times Did You Make Yourself Sick....
It's all new replied to Curvy Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have gotten sick three or four times - had my surgery in May. One trick is to never let yourself get too hungry. It does seem like I am "managing" my hunger all day long to keep it under control, but if I get too hungry I am doomed to overeat. It is strange that I seem to think about and plan my eating to such a greater extent now than before. Another trick is to figure out how much fits comfortably in your stomach of a given food, and then consistently measure out that amount. That way, even if you eat too fast you are much less likely to make yourself sick. I do this with almost every meal now. These are just a few ideas that helped me - I'm sure you will find those things that work for you. Good luck! -
Where Is The Weight Loss?!
It's all new replied to Dolly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't get discouraged so soon! As the previous poster said, you had IV fluids and it takes time for everything to balance out again. Stay off the scale for a week, follow your surgeon's instructions carefully, and give it time. There are so many changes at first the LAST thing you need is to be disappointed by the scale. Hang in there! -
Kick some butt! That is awesome. Modify exercises for your fitness level when you begin if you need to - you got it though!

Anyone Recieved Plastic Surgery In Mexico?
It's all new replied to ValerieSJackson's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I would definitely like to see the before/afters. I am still a ways out from plastic surgery (at 189) but I'm losing fast and looking forward to goal. I will be needing a tummy tuck, lift and implants - at a minimum. -
Labor Day Challenge 2012
It's all new replied to jhansen71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Challenge start weight July 4 - 219 Original GW 199 Revised GW 189.9 CW 189.3!!! Very happy with my results. I did not expect to lose at this pace. I am on to the Halloween challenge... And have no idea what to expect about how fast the weight will come off! Congrats to everyone on their hard work. -
I agree with the others that new clothes are a must - I don't think you will be perceived as flaunting it. I think clothes that fit properly will give you a boost in confidence and allow you to be perceived as strong and confident. We all go through stages of wearing baggy clothes as we lose weight, but this is a chance for you to really shine. Have fun shopping!

Plateau After Only Two Weeks?! Wtf!
It's all new replied to samomom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also stalled from the end of week 2 until just after week 6. The scale did start moving again for me. It is not unheard of for this to happen even in the normal course of events. I was following the dietary guidelines as well for the entire time. Give yourself some more time before you decide that this hasn't worked for you. It could still go either way. Hang in there! We are all rooting for you. -

Too Much Protein?
It's all new replied to TheNewSusie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was recently told by my nutritionist to cut back on my protein. She told me that it was hard on the kidneys to have too much protein. I don't know the science of it, but listened to her advice as I only have 1 kidney. -
I'm 12 weeks post op and am trying to connect with people who have a similar approach to this journey. I am pretty much by the books, on the plan, trying to get to my goal every day. I've lost 58 lbs in just over three months, but have another 57 to go. I would love to find others taking the same approach with fitness and diet - I have a lot to learn still! Mary

How Much Should I Be Working Out?
It's all new replied to JamaicanGirl2011's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I have heard that for folks with serious weight problems that 60 minutes is a minimum. Yikes! I am not a fitness guru, this is just what I have read. I sometimes don't quite get the full time in, sometimes get in more, and I always take 1 day off per week.
