I found a great solution after months of misery. 800 mg of magnesium (a supplement at any drug store - I would try 400 mg first to see if it works) in addition to two fiber gummies each day. Every once in a while I will take milk of magnesia, but it is now a very rare occurrence. There is no cramping, and that was important to me. Haven't tried chia seeds but they sound ok - there are many times where I am not willing to use 60 calories on a Tablespoon of chia seeds, but 15 cals for my fiber gummies doesn't bother me.

Right - probably a milk thing. I've heard of people becoming lactose intolerant after surgery, I don't think it's uncommon.

I think johnlatte's idea of telling him that you have found a miraculous cure where you lose 200 lbs in one day is a good one. If you aren't ready to step away despite what seem like very clear signs to other people, I kind of get it. My self esteem has been in the crapper before and I've had a bad relationship or two as a result. I think moving on is the right decision - but you have to feel ready. What is most important - hold off on any talk of marriage. Because you are about to lose weight and have a seriously hot bod and new outlook on life. And the negativity that you accepted from this man in the past - you will not accept it in the future. You will have an enhanced self esteem from taking charge of your health, your future, your body, and your fitness. There will be no room for his behavior in your future, and you won't be able to forget how he treated you in the past. So, please, for your own sake - don't marry the guy!

Absolutely positively a terrible idea that you would truly regret. Better ask and find out than take the action and live the consequences.

All i want for Christmas is... (join in)
It's all new replied to Tink22-sleeve's topic in The Gals' Room
My Christmas list includes: Great health for my Mom in the coming year as she has pancreatic cancer and for my husband's sleeve to be complication free (and a huge success) at the end of January. A remote starter for my car so that it will be warm when I get in - I'm always cold now! My three plastic surgeries to go smoothly - New Year's Eve, Feb., and May. To be able to maintain my weight when I can't exercise for the next seven months. A hot, hot bathing suit at the end of this process to show off my hot new bod. That is a big list! Health and happiness for all concerned is most important. -

Strangers are nicer, more likely to say something to me, more likely to start a conversation, open a door, etc. Because I am so much more outgoing, confident, and happy, there are many acquaintances who I have gotten to know much better. The people with whom I was close - I'm still close with them. With one exception - I had a friend who turned out to enjoy nothing more than taunting me with food. Uhhh - I don't have room for that kind of behavior in my life! Overall, a very positive experience.

breast options after weight loss
It's all new replied to NurseMom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
So I was a 44H before surgery (at 255) and am a 34DD or DDD at 152. I was told I would be a full B after a lift. I'm going to get implants to a full D, but I have broad shoulders and am curvy so I believe it will be proportional. I would have not gotten implants if I could have been a C cup without, but a B just doesn't fit my body type well. My husband said he was totally opposed to implants - until I told him the alternative was a B cup. Suddenly, he had a change of heart. -
What To Order At Restaurants, Business Trips
It's all new replied to 39m's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Soup and salad are pretty good covers for the WLS. You can eat enough not to seem so unusual. The issue is that you have to work very hard to get you protein in at other times. If you eat firm protein In the salad your capacity is back to being nonexistent. This may not be the best nutritional advice, but sometimes blending in feels important. If you do that you may need extra protein shake that day to help reach your protein goal. -

Week 1 Down 22 Lbs & Not Excited
It's all new replied to deedeemuffin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Be happy with your loss. Consider that other people struggle with losing from the very beginning. Prepare yourself for struggles - like stalling for weeks (or longer!) at a time even though you are eating only 600 calories and exercising for two hours a day. Give yourself a reality check. Your emotional upheaval right now may have nothing to do with dissatisfaction with your weight loss but instead be part of the crazy hormones from losing weight quickly. -
Cosmetic Questions For Post Weight Loss Phase
It's all new replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plan is to go with the cosmetic surgery. It is not that I plan on a career in modeling, I just want a chance to feel great in my new body - healthy AND happy! My consult with the surgeon will be Friday, I am 6.5 months post surgery. So, I think if you want it - go for it! You have worked hard and deserve to feel your best. LASIK - absolutely. Not a question in my mind. Your wife answered for herself on the back hair, I think you should listen to her. And chest hair is manly, maybe that's why she likes it. I have heard conflicting stories on the surgery timing. My surgeon asks that you are at goal for several months, and that it is more than six months past your surgery. I figure I will see the surgeon now as I am just getting to goal and then schedule for a few months from now. ***i just saw your above post that says it is only 1/2 inch of skin - I would wait a year or even two from now to consider surgery for such a small amount I skin. Seems likely to shrink. -
I would talk to your PCP or surgeon for a prescription. I like prescription Prevacid, some people find omeprazole works. Everyone is different.
-
I would strongly consider the acid reducer as hunger feelings can be a good indicator of a problem with acid. It is worth a try.

A Little Embarrasing...implant - What Size?

I have to put in my 2 cents on the hunger issue. The great majority of sleevers don't have problems with real hunger, it is true. But this is not true for everyone. I do find it frustrating that folks who do not have this issue discount it in others as being head hunger. I am the exception to the rule. I struggle with hunger every day - I'm full for about one hour after eating and then very hungry again. Always. It has not slowed my weight loss but has made me get creative about filling in the gaps between meals and Snacks - I eat more often, I drink 3 glasses of Water at a time three times per day to help, I have found that exercise settles my appetite for an hour. I just had my six month check up and my sleeve is as tiny and beautiful as ever - it's just a hungry sleeve! The things that work against me are if I do something that adds head hunger to the hunger I already have. (I.e.- having a piece of pie on Thanksgiving brought on serious head hunger for days. The cravings!!) It is much harder to be reasonable with head hunger - it tells me I want carbs, sugar, and calories I don't need. The real hunger I feel everyday could care less what the solution is - a few ounces of chicken, an ounce of beef Jerky, some celery. Two different monsters. Even though I would far prefer not to be hungry anymore, I am still down from 255 to 156 since May 10. Looking at the numbers, how much can I really complain? And it is true, you may not feel restriction until dense Protein, so hold off on judging until you get there. Even if the hunger doesn't get better, you can still be very successful.

I think that counts as reduced fat cheese. But as far as eating goes - eggs are filling! At six+ months I can eat one egg or two egg whites with 1/2 ounce cheese with two bites of veggies. I would have been able to eat maybe a tablespoon of eggs at your stage - maybe less.

Have Your Relationships Changed?
It's all new replied to smithpy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My relationships improved for the most part. The fact that I don't feel so badly about myself has really helped. My husband and I have been separated since well before surgery, but we are doing amazingly well. I did lose one friend who turned out to be a real jerk - despite the fact that he is very trim and it is a priority for him, he tried to make it very hard for me to make good choices after surgery. I have found that I would like to find more like minded people - fitness and health folks. I'm not great at meeting new people though and live in a smaller town... I'm sure it will happen with time.
