What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
NVgirl replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
7 weeks post surgery with a 1.8cc fill in my 4cc band -
and what about breathing??
NVgirl replied to michellyoh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're just fine! It took about 2 weeks from my surgery to be able to take a deep breath comfortably. -
You've lost 42 pounds in 3 1/2 months - that's something to be happy and proud of!
-
This is a time to let your insides heal. The "pausing" of weight loss during these weeks is totally normal!

Splenda is horrible! While the taste is fine, even the smallest amount does very nasty things to my digestive track. That stuff is poison!

Doctor Says its a no-go - Any solutions?
NVgirl replied to nr-vsg2be's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgeon will fix a hiatal (sp?) when he goes to put in the lap band. I'd get a second opinion! -
I have BCBS in Nevada and while they wanted a 5 year history of dieting, etc., I just wrote down everything I'd tried. They never asked for proof, which is a good thing, because I don't save receipts! My primary doc also wrote a great letter about how she's watched me struggle for years as well.

And this is exactly why my mother has no clue about my surgery!

So, I'm 2 weeks banded and had my first instance of stuck food today. Wasn't paying attention while I ate and took too big of a bite. Felt like a freaking flaming hot heart attack, without the benefit of dying or passing out to make the pain end! I'll definitely take away a life chewing lesson from this!

Will an ear infection delay surgery?
NVgirl replied to serenity's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call your doc right away so they're aware, but I wouldn't think it would be a problem. I was diagnosed with a bladder infection 7 days before my surgery and I was fine -
And here I thought the thread title was a new beauty secret! :nervous

Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???
NVgirl replied to Success in lapband's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm still tired - I definitely need to up my protein intake! I'm sore in my port area - not the incisions, but the port itself. I'm rather short waisted and so where my port is, it feels as though it's catching under my ribcage. By the end of the day I'm rather uncomfortable. I talked with Dr. Ganser about it at my post op this week and he explained that he had few options in placement, due to the short waisted thing. He wants me to wait the entire six weeks to see if when the internal swelling goes down, the port lowers and adjusts on it's own. Other than that, doing alright! Mushies are great - not too hungry! The liquid diet sucks, doesn't it?? Hang in there, it'll be over before you know it! -
Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???
NVgirl replied to Success in lapband's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I didn't meet that requirement (it was 10 pounds for me) and Dr. Ganser never said a word. Who's doing your surgery? -
How on earth do you get enough water in???
NVgirl replied to cfred's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not much of a sipper... and it's still going down smoothly
