Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???
NVgirl replied to Success in lapband's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nope. We all moved to California I got my packet of information today from Western Bariatric. I was so excited to see all my appointments in writing! I'm scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on May 7th! Just seven weeks away! How are you doing since surgery? -

I laughed out loud at that! -
Good questions! Here's my 2 cents worth - Scenario 1 - The doctor has the right to refuse to perform an elective procedure, whether the patient wants an abortion or a tummy tuck. Scenario 2 - Tough one... if it were a privately owned pharmacy, I'd say that the pharmacist has the right to deny filling the prescription. However, since it was a major corporation, it would go to their policies. It's my thought that if they allow that prescription to be stocked in their pharmacy, the pharmacist has a duty to fill it. Scenario 3 - Once again, the doctor has the right to refuse to perform an elective procedure. My personal feelings? I'm pro-choice and do not believe in circumcising boys (I have two sons, uncircumcised, that have never had any problems with this). Great way to start some debating! :clap2:

For those of you that were banded through Western Bariatric, did you order the liquid diet powder through them, or did you just use Myoplex or something similar?:hungry: -
What state do you live in? I can get you the contact information to your state's Elder Protective Services. Perhaps you could speak with a social worker and have them check to ensure there is no explotation going on.

Didn't even notice there was a chat room! :faint: I just went in but there was no one there.

How Much Pbing Is Too Much?
NVgirl replied to Ryanband07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks! That's Baxter, he's a Cairn Terrier Mix that we rescued from the shelter. He's a funny little dude! I'm not on my pre-op diet yet. I got the call from the scheduler last week with all my dates (pre-op class, pre-op appt, op day, post-op, etc) and she said I'd be getting a packet in the mail this week with all the details about the pre-op diet. Dr. Gansert did tell me that I'll be on a 2-week liquid diet before the surgery - not sure what to expect of that! -

Pam, You mentioned pushing your port in... I thought that we weren't supposed to be able to feel the port? I thought I'd heard at the seminar that they put it deep enough in that it's not detectable? My surgery date is May 7th, not April 11th as I originally thought.. oh well, gives me more time to prepare myself! Enjoy Sea World! Lisa -

Ok, that sounds better I've had laprascopic surgery three times, so I'm thinking they'll be in the same areas that they've always cut me... I think I'm running out of extra organs to get rid of! -

Wow! You're way helpful! Thanks! I don't tolerate Splenda at all, so I was concerned! -
Hello! I'm waiting on approval for my lap band surgery. I expect to get the approval in about two weeks. From there I"ll be about 6 weeks out from surgery, which puts me around mid-April. Here's where I need advice... My husband wants me to accompany him on a business trip to Las Vegas the 1st weekend in May. By my calculations, I'll be 2-3 weeks post-op. I'm thinking that it would be a bad idea to try to do an out-of-town trip when I'm barely getting back to solid foods... what do you think?:help:

Hi there! I live in Reno and am currently waiting for insurance approval to have LB surgery with Dr. Ganser. I feel I'm pretty well prepared for all the changes the surgery will bring but one... I'm a gulper when I drink.. I have a really hard time taking small sips... but I'm working on it!
