This damn thing has been saying that i will weigh 124 in 5 weeks with my current intake, and I have been in a stall for 3 weeks and counting! I think the only way I will weigh 124 I cut off my right leg, maybe my left too

How can this math be possible ? The Sleeve is not working.
hm734 replied to Kapoorvilla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been in one over a month now. At 6 months post op my intake is 800-900 calories a day. I walk/jog 5 + miles 5 days a week and eat pretty clean. In any other world I would be 100 pounds and dying of starvation. I have lost 70 something pounds and am pretty confident the last 10 or less will eventually go. Our bodies are in shock. -

We stall. Period. Almost all of us. It will pass. There are probably thousands of threads on here about them. Sometimes it's for a week, sometimes it's 5. Stalls are frustrating and they piss all of us off, but the end result is always the same if you do what you are supposed to do...the scale WILL go down. -
Why does myfitnesspal lie to me?
hm734 replied to hm734's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sure does. So, if it lies about what my weight will be, do you think it's lying about a spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy's having 270 calories with no bun or mayo? I will kill somebody, as I have been craving one since my pre-op diet, and told myself I could have ONE at 6 months if I was a good girl. SIx months is here and I have passed my surgeons 18 month goal (by 1 pound lol) It's my cookie dammit' -
Calcium chews-what's your favorite
hm734 replied to ashleywi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I second the Kirkland sugar free chews. They taste a lot like a tootsie roll. -
I have 3 1/2 oz of Laura's 97% lean beef, low fat cheese and sometimes the bottom of the bun made at home @ 6 months out. According to myfitnesspal I am starving and will be 116 pounds in 5 weeks according to my eating habits. That lying b***h. I say we blame her. In all seriousness, I am careful about what I eat, track it, but don't completely obsess. If I want a burger, I will make my own. Life is about choices. I choose to live a little, but make the best choices for ME. Most of the time I like being smaller (and soooo much healthier) more than I like ice cream or pasta. Some days, not so much. Those are the days I go for a weight watchers ice cream or a <insert weight watchers, lean cuisine or whatever> and only eat enough to feed my craving, them move on. They cut out part of my stomach, not my brain, and I am still human. Different strokes for different folks. Life is short people, can't we all get along?

Thanks! My legs are pretty toned, my tummy and arms..not so much! On my surgery date I was 209 after loosing about 6 pounds in my short pre-op diet, but since surgery I have lost 70lbs (and holding for 3 weeks) i have a rare complication right now, called drop foot, which is why the scale isn't moving. It should resolve itself soon, I hope! My normal workout is just 30-45 mins on the stationary bike at my gym and a brisk 5-5 1/2 mile walk/jog while my girls have practice. I think we average about a 14 min mile.

I drink 1-2 cups a day, everyday. I have since 4 weeks post op with no issues. I have regular caffeinated with sugar free syrup and 1/2% milk. Your mileage may vary. Without my coffee, I get zero mileage.

I just re-read this and see that it could be taken as kind of harsh. That was not my intention at all. I just firmly believe this. -

5'5" Women....what is your goal weight or size?
hm734 replied to VSGRachel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I keep hitting (and decreasing) my goal weight at close to 6 months out. First it was 145, then 140 now 135...but I honestly think 125 is going to be my 'magic number' at 5' 4". In clothes I look pretty good and wear a 4-6 across the board. Yesterday I went to the thrift store again to size down my work place wardrobe and bought 5 suits a couple pair of dress pants and some shirts and Camis. One pair of pants was a 6, and everything else was a small or 4-5. That sounds great, but a 5 isn't what it used to be, so keep vanity sizing In mind as you lose. Back in the day I think my 5s would have been at least a 8 probably a 10 or 12. Vanity sizing really is that out of control. -

The better question would be why wait till you are 220...230..250...300lbs? Despite some peoples best efforts, the scale may go down, but always creeps much higher in the long run. An average of 10 lbs a year gain, for me, on what seemed like a lifelong diet - for what? Pre-diabetes, heart disease, high chloresteral, high blood pressure, back problems, knee problems, PCOS and a miserable life in general? I WISH I would have considered this surgery at 180. I was too busy kidding myself that I could somehow lose 50+ pounds on my own and keep it off. I finally decided to have my surgery somewhere between 213-218. Now, almost 6 months later I am 139 lbs, 5' 4" and for the first time ever I am HEALTHY, confident, happy and content. That is why. I see you started at 340 pounds. I would have been dead by the time I reached that weight. I make no mistake about it. My weight was slowly killing me. Let me ask you something. Are you happy you started this journey at 340, or would you have preferred to start at 180? Because you were 180 at some point. You just kept going and going and going, as we "low BMI'rs (read still Morbidy OBESE) decided to fix the problem before it got even more out of control, we should somehow feel guilty? Yeah...no. -
Portion size 6 months out...1/2 unwich?
hm734 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just demolished 1/2 of a Beach Club unwich from Jimmy Johns (no mayo, no onion)) and am a little concerned I was able to eat that much. Before you jump on the no fast food band wagon, I left my lunch on my counter at home, and don't have many options close to me. Should I be concerned I about this portion size 6 months out? http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/nutrition-calories/food/jimmy-johns/beach-club-unwich-without-mayo/ -
You will learn to just ignore them. It is the same handful, and just like in real life when you come across a ******, you just don't interact with them. They like interaction and if you don't give it to them they will go away.

Who Was Sleeve On July 16 2012
hm734 replied to WifeyMaterial's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Sleeved 7/18 at 209lbs at 5'4". Today I weighed in at 139 for 70 lbs lost since surgery (100% excess body weight per my surgeon!) I still see 'excess' so I am going to go down 4 more and reevaluate where I want to start maintaining. -

Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?
hm734 replied to Carrie's Journey's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
DOS 209, 2 weeks shy of 6 months I am 141. I am 5'4" tall. My original goal was 145 (normal BMI) but I want to get to 135 now. For 100% EBW my doctor had me at 142, but I still see excess. Haha -
My beautiful hair--finally broke down and cried today. :(
hm734 replied to Sleevedreamz's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have less than half the hair I had pre surgery. I had VERY thick hair, where i could only wrap my pony tail twice. now i can wrap 5. I didn't cut it, but what is there is really starting to look full and drab. Hair loss has slowed this week so I am hoping the end is near. I was sleeved 7/18 with loss starting at 3 1/2 months. I can't imagine what it would look like if it was thin pre-surgery...but at least I am not bald! -

What does maintenance look like/involve?

Hi guys! I am getting very close to goal (5 1/2 months post op) and don't see a lot posted on how to just maintain. What works for you? What is your intake?
