Four Days Out....and So Depressed!
Aliceinwonder replied to Luwanna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too. Had a meltdown today. Finding that if I am not having enough Protein I get crazy. I am not liking the New whey or Isopure. Sticking to ramen packets and looking for other I like. I also noticed that warm liquid feels good & is easier on the tummy. I find that Ramen is salty, but I feel like I can only do so much right now. Try the grape New Whey Liquid Protein start w/ 1oz in a 16 oz glass & mix with grape Crystal Light. tastes like grape soda. So far, this is all I can tolerate. -

Gaining Weight Rapidly!
Aliceinwonder replied to wondering1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My girlfriend just told me that your weight can fluctuate upto 8 pounds in a day so to Water. I would suggest deep breaths & maybe a visit to your doctor for bloodwork to rule out any issues. -
Getting Sleeved In 4 Days...

I'm in the same boat. My surgery is also in 4 days and I feel like I could eat a side of beef & a loaf of bread. -

I'm in Tucson and I am driving to Calexico/Mexicali for my surgery. My surgeon's office is picking me up in the US on Sunday for pre-op testing and blood work and then they are paying for me and my husband to stay at a hotel in Mexico overnight (I think it is a Crown Plaza). Monday morning I am picked up for surgery. When discharged from the hospital they bring me back to my car. All is included in his fee. I have received as much information as any doctor in the US and my husband is able to stay in the hospital with me during my entire stay. The rooms are equiped with pull-outs for travel companions. My doctor is Dr. Aceves at Mexicali Bariatric. He has done sleeves on two of my friends and they have had great success. Both are just over a year post-op and below their goal weight.

Thank You. I'm concerned I'm not gonna want to move. The only person I know who had the surgery, I didn't meet until she was already a few months post-op.

I'm a newbie to this website. I am scheduled to be sleeved on 5/28/12; so next Monday. Right now, I am freaking out because I have been over 200 pounds for the last 20 years and I have no idea what this surgery is going to do to me. Most nervous about post-op pain from gas. I am lactose intolerant and am very sensitive to gas. Basically, air makes me burp. I have packed my gas-x chewables, but not sure that is even going to help. My friends say get up and walk as soon as you can to get the gas moved around and dispursed. It's just fear of the unknown and some last minute jitters mixed in. I have been on the pre-op diet for 4 days. My doctor has me doing high protein and low carb. I have cut as much carb out of my diet as I can leading up to surgery. I am also replacing one meal per day with a shake, just to keep me honest. I am leaving on Saturday and driving from Arizona to California for my surgery. I do all my pre-op on Sunday and surgery is scheduled for Monday.
