So, I'm 16 weeks since surgery and down 105 pounds! Thank you lap band.
-
And thanks, it really means a lot to be able to share this with people who understand just what we go through everyday.
-
No. I had surgery and went two weeks of being sore, then I started working out everyday, started very slow and just increased how much I was able to do every day, and I am very careful about what I eat. I looked at this as a chance to finally have a healthy life. It's so weird to not be so self concious anymore. But it's work, everyday is a challenge, but I just attack everyday and so far so good.

I'm down 105 since surgery. I went to the doctor last week, and he didn't put anything in my band and told me to keep up the good work.

I have a job that keeps me pretty active, but at the end of the day I have to do paperwork and that kinda stuff. I bought a fit ball that I use instead of a chair. It has really helped me, and you can feel it starting to burn your muscles in a good way.

I was banded on May 23rd 2012, and I'm down 77 pounds as of today. -
The morning star chicken patties are very good also.

My port is located at the top of my stomach, just below the center of my chest. Everybody else I talk to has theirs on the side, is mine normal?

Thank you guys so much. I thought I was the only one that had it done this way. This forum is such a helpful thing.

First 3 weeks I didn't eat anything. I drank protein shakes. It was tough. Being around food. But you gotta be strong. Seeing commercials for pizza and stuff was tough. After 3 weeks I went to my doctor and he was happy with my results, so I was aloud to eat regular foods and return to normal activities. So I use My Fitness Pal to track my calories and exercise. I set a 1200 calorie a day goal for myself, and it works. I'm no longer hungry all the time, commercials don't bother me now. I know I have to do this and be strong. I tried 1,000 different diets, and never any results. So I told myself it's going to be different this time. I can do this. It started slow, but now I'm walking 2 miles a day on my treadmill and eating healthy, chewing my foods really well, not allowing food to always be on my mind, no fast food at all. I have so much more energy, and I feel so much better about myself. It's hard work, you have to be willing to help yourself with the band. But it's the best decision I have ever made.

Congratulations. This is a big step, and can be very rewarding. It's work, you have to work really hard with the band for it to be effective, but it will pay off. I'm almost 7 weeks post op, and I'm down 64 pounds and feel great. Good luck to you, and congratulations on making a choice to improve your life.

I Don't Know What To Eat. Ugh!

I use My Fitness Plan, it's an app that you can use to research all the food your gonna eat, it tells you the calories and protien and that information, and allows you to break it down by how much your eating ex:1/2 a cup. It's a great app, and you enter everything you eat for the day, set calorie goals for yourself. It's helped a lot. -

Congrats! -
I was banded almost 5 weeks ago and was going thru the same things. I was worried and nervous, and embarrassed that I needed surgery. Tomorrow will be 5 weeks for me, and im down 56 pounds already. I feel great, I have so much more energy. There was a little pain, but not much. And it was so worth it. I'm very happy so far, and can tell you for me, it was a great choice.
-
Im on it also, it's a great app. Any of you can add me, please : BassplayerJason

I have been banded for 5 weeks, have lost 50 pounds and have so much energy that I did two miles on my treadmill before work this morning. I did that for myself, and for my family. I'm bdeing healthy for them, as well as me.

So i started out great, tomorrow will be 4 weeks and I'm down 44 pounds. But I haven't lost any in a week. Is this normal? Am I just expecting to much because I lost so much so quickly? I feel great, and I'm not over eating. Sticking to a very strict diet and not snacking in between meals, which is a first for me. I'm walking everyday, on top of working my job everyday.

I went to the Doctor this past Thursday and he said everything looked great and they were really happy with my progress, and they didn't wanna see me for two months. So I will have to wait till then for my first fill? I was worried about losing that much so quickly, just for health reasons, but he said it was perfectly fine. For the first two weeks after surgery, I wasn't hungry at all and only had 8 ounces of a protien shake for the whole day. I've now just started regular foods, but I was curious why I stopped losing, when I'm not eating bad, getting protien, and I'm under 800 to 1,000 calories a day. Congratulations on your progress, that's awesome.

Just had surgery two days ago. Already down 13 pounds, but still very sore and finding it difficult to walk around for a decent amount of time. Is this normal?

I just had mine done on Wednesday, I'm able to sip on a protein shake, and drink water. The protein shake, while I'm not able to drink much of it, does fill me up and it's very good for you.
