Got My Date! August 7!
MsDallasSleever replied to bandalyons83's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That was quick, what insurance do you have? -
I've finally completed all of my requirements and waiting to be submitted to Cigna. I've read that they can take up to 30 business days but I'm really hoping it doesn't! It seems like my future weightloss is all I can think about. What had everyone else done to make it through this phase. My surgery cannot be scheduled before I am approved ;( I would feel better if I knee my date already!

OMG, I hope the give days its true!!! I hear others talk that already have dates even before approval and just wish my Dr's offc scheduled the same. I was stoked to find out about the change to three months, I wanted to run around the offc!!

Had anyone else gone over board with their eating pre-op? I've always known that I was addicted to food however now I've been over indulging to the point my feet are swelling from the salt intake and I've been having pain in my right arm off and on. I realized that I need to stop over indulging and take it easy. Had anyone else experienced this?

Wooohooo! Just found out yesterday that Cigna has changed their policy from 6 months to 3. I'm excited, scared, and nervous. I have my psych eval scheduled for Monday and then I should be ready to be submitted to insurance. I've gone back and forth with my decision however I've been able to decide to have it as all of the pros outweigh the cons. I think the hardest part of this for me will be the pre-op diet, challenging but not impossible! Does anyone have any tips for getting through the pre-op diet whether recipes or strategies...??

Feeling No Support
MsDallasSleever replied to jazzyjay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most of my friends are supportive however my family would prefer that I not do it. My sister said there is no promise that I will wake up from surgery. I look at it as there is no promise I will arrive hone safely from driving my car too and from either... It's been my experience that most people who aren't supportive have not had to endure the battle we have ask experienced. -
Hi Everyone, I've been lurking around the forum for about two months now and finally decided today to create a profile and ask some questions I've been wanting answers to. Here is my (condensed story), I'm a 28 year old single mother and I have been going back and forth with my decision to be sleeved. I was totally against it at first but then decided to give it some thought and go to a consultation to see how I felt about it afterwards. My surgeon is Dr. Wade Barker and so far I am pleased with his office. I'm a little more than half way through my six month waiting period. I lost 115lbs w/out surgery or anything else a few years ago and kept if off for about a year before gaining it back. I got down to 183 and now I've shot back up to 337. I am still deciding on the sleeve and wanted to know if there is anyone who has had the sleeve and wish they would have lost the weight without it? Another major concern is not looking healthy/looking sickly. I've seen several people who have had WLS and don't look good. I want to still have curves and be voluptuous, so is it possible to stop losing when you feel like you are at a good weight? Once I get started losing weight it gets pretty easy for me but now my major concern is the maintenance phase. Does anyone else go back and forth with their decision? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Blessings, Jen
