  1. Just curious did you have a hiatus hernia repair? If you did its not just gas pains there is a nerve called the vega nerve that cross from your esophageal opening in the diaphragm that gets irritated from the hernia repair. If that's the case just keep moving it will ease up in a few days and be gone completely within a week or two.
  2. I think we all know how you feel, if we didn't we wouldn't have needed the band. I've had my band just over a year and I still struggle some days just wanting to eat out of habit not hunger. Try to find ways of tricking my brain some things that work for me; brushing my teeth or rinsing with mouth wash, having a glass of milk or Water. I also went to the bulk store and bought some sugar free candy and suck on them for a few minutes or if you want to chew something crystal light makes a candy just like starbursts. And if none of those work I clean something. You were string enough to realize you needed help so you know damn well your strong enough to make it work.
  3. DON'T DRINK. It's a funny thing but liquid will take the path of least resistance which if your stuck is UP. I'm a year p-op and 100lbs gone. I find if I stretch, get up and move around or take a few deep slow breaths it helps ease the pain and hopefully help the food through. Also eat at the table instead of the couch, better posture while eating also helped me. Put your fork down between bites and listen to your body, don't eat till your full eat till your not physically hungery anymore. It takes time to figure it out but remember it is a new way if life change ALL your old eating habits right from the start. Good luck everyone. And most of all small bites chew chew chew.

    Pain Under Left Rib

Oh my goodness, yes! I am a year post-op and have then pain off and on for about 6 months up until may when it got to much. I went to my surgeon was sent for a barrium swallow and went back a week later for results. The doctor pushed and poked and suggested I may have displaced one of the float ribs. After her wiggled stuff around two days later the eased and then disappeared. You may have just twisted wrong and pulled a muscle or one of those ribs. If it doesn't go away have you surgeon feel around
