  1. I take a stool softener a couple if times a week and all is well now, at 11 weeks out. In the beginning, I had to to take it very day to keep things moving. Once you can eat more and get all of your water in, it gets way easier. (<----pun intended!)
  2. My surgeon and NUT said absolutely NO gummies. They're "junk" Vitamins and fall way short for sleeve patients according to them. I'm currently using the ENS Protein shake that has everything but Iron on the shake. Keeps me from having to take a chewable.

    any new orleans ladies?

Not NOLA but Baton Rouge here, too! Dr. Allain on 10/15. It takes an especially strong person to make this change while being surrounded by THE BEST food anywhere. I'm dying for a muffalotta from Central Grocery and some "thin" fish from Middendorf's!

    Chewable iron

That makes sense...4 would be the same amount of Iron as 1 Bariatric Advantage.

    Chewable iron

I have to admit that I'm über paranoid though bc I'm chronically anemic. I sure wish the Flintstones would work for me...WAY cheaper!!

    Chewable iron

I checked and Flintstones with iron only has 75% of the iron 2 & 3 year olds need a day!

I didn't tell my family until after for just that reason. My mother makes everything about HER and how she feels and this was all me. I had no intention of trying to make them feel better! Put your foot down. Be firm and explain that your mind is made up and your telling them was an courtesy, not asking for an opinion. Every time someone wants to comment, say the same thing, "My mind is made up. Please just support me."

    hot chocolate

Yes! Sugar free hot chocolate is yummy and feels good going down.

    Pardon my bluntness...

When I was feeling weak and dying for a fresh-baked Xmas cookie, I came here BEFORE I caved for people who understood me to "talk me down" and remind me how strong I am and why I did this. It worked. No cookie for me and I got SUPPORT bc I didn't do something stupid to derail my progress so far. Like a virtual AA sponsor!

    Protein bar recommendations needed

I started eating them at about 9 weeks & they really do help me get my protein in. I like Bariwise bars, I keep some in my desk and a couple in my purse. Most are 15mg of protein.

    Going to Mexico alone

Your post was unnecessary and read as rude.

GOOD fast food choices ?! :)

Order a grilled chicken sandwich with just meat and bread, then throw out the bread and eat the chicken breast.
