I've never been told to treat it as a meal, but I do; especially in the morning bc a shake is my breakfast.
-
I asked my nutritionist and this is a myth. If you eat the right types of protein, your body will breakdown and absorb all of it.

No inconvenience! Glad you got good news!!!

I'm still pretty early on (right at 3 months out) and i have one mid morning pretty much very day. I love the Carmel Crunch from Bariwise. I order a box if those and a variety box from Bariatric Advantage every couple of weeks. I also keep a few in my desk or in my purse in case if emergency. They're handy and they taste good. My NUT said they're a good choice for the 1st six months or so.

Not so great. I lost a disappointing 12.5lbs. My doc thought it was just fine (35lbs since surgery) but I think it's too low. Oh well, a loss is a loss I guess. I'm going to focus on getting all my water in and get my fat butt on the recumbent bike consistently. Otherwise I'm doing everything by the book. SIGH.

I just found some RIDICULOUSLY good deals at Old Navy!! Shirts for $3.49 and $2.99, pants for $9.99!! I got a cute white shirt for $.47!!!!

I'm not quite 3 months post-op and I'm finding that I'm starting to crave more of a variety of foods. Unfortunately this includes sweets and that freaks me out bc that's my drug of choice. I need to keep "safe" foods in the house for my sweets cravings, which usually hit at night. I have light yogurt and sf pudding, which are doing the trick for now. What are some of your go-to foods when you're craving sweets? Nothing that I'd have to cook, but something quick that I can snack on before bed? Thanks!!

I had no pre-op diet either. Had dinner at 8pm the night before surgery! Did your surgeon explain WHY he/she wanted you to do a pre-op diet? To shrink your liver? To lose weight? That will help you make an informed decision. Good luck!
-
Did your Nut or surgeon give you specific ideas of foods for each phase? Broccoli with cheese sauce? Pita chips? Tamales? Sounds like they didn't give you enough guidance. I'm certainly no expert, but these don't sound like good choices! Measure everything and start tracking with MFP!

I really like this group we have going here. Thank you all for participating and for letting me whine. On an up note, my anger at the 12.5lbs motivated me to get on my (evil) recumbent bike for 30 minutes. I'm losing this weight, dammit! -

Well, I got a big sock in the stomach today. 12 week check-up today and I've only lost 12.5 lbs in the last 6 weeks. :'( I lost 22.5 lbs the first 6 weeks and I'm shocked that it was so little this time. I've done everything right! I've followed all the rules, dammit!! And of course, now I just want to eat a hug... -
It's so weird that you posted this! I'm out if my ENS shakes and had to take my Vitamins today. Had a caramel calcium chew and it was good!!

I had no idea that people would be so happy for me and supportive of me. It's been amazing! I had no idea how much I'd missed my waist. I have my hands on my hips all the time now. I had no idea that walking into Old Navy and being able to buy a pair of jeans IN the store would move me to tears. I had no idea that my shoes would be too big. It never occurred to me! I had no idea that I'd want to DO so much! -

Eating ice cream seems like a bad idea, but if you must, I've seen other sleevers mention frozen yogurt sitting well.
