Days 5-10 totally SUCKED for me! Felt better but not better enough. Cranky, head hungry, sore, but not really in pain and not losing weight! Then...it got better. Just ride it out!

Waiting for my appt and I'm oddly nervous. What if I lost ZERO?!

I can TOTALLY tell a difference!!

I've read several posts where people have mentioned that their largest incision is on their left side. Mine is on my right side! Where's your large incision? Does anyone know why there's a difference? Weird!

I have my 1st post-op appt today and I'll find out how much I've lost. As long as its at least 10lbs, I'll be happy. I'm trying to be realistic. I went back to work yesterday and stayed too long. I was really sore and weak by the time I made the hour+ drive home, and I ended up not sleeping well. Blah. So today, I'm feeling puny and blah. Hoping its just from yesterday and not something worse. I can't wait until I can stop worrying about complications...

Your feelings are so normal! I was so focused on getting insurance approval that when I finally did, I felt kind of lost! I've been here every day since May (the week after my 1st appt) and have read and asked and researched and read some more. I, too, thought I was prepared and informed. Then my nutritionist handed me a big PACKET about how to eat afterwards and I panicked and felt completely overwhelmed and lost! But I kept reading and asking and researching, and I sit here today, 2 weeks post-op, looking forward to my doctor's appt tomorrow to see how much I've lost!!

Well I'll be!! I'm not so weird after all. Well...not about that anyway.

I had no pre-op diet and I know (from gallbladder surgery) that I have a fatty liver. I didn't even have a night-before colon cleanse!! It's obviously not absolutely necessary or every surgeon would require it. I'm 2 weeks today and have had a textbook recovery! Post-op appt tomorrow to see how much I've lost. To pre-op diet or not to pre-op diet is hotly debated here. You just have to choose a surgeon that you trust with your life and follow his/her instructions.

Well I'm relieved to know that I'm not a weirdo with my left side biggie! LOL I have 6 incisions...5 tiny, one not so tiny. Nothing on my belly button!

Stupid is stupid, no matter the profession, but it's sad and disturbing that nurses, of ALL professions, engage in such ignorant and dehumanizing behavior. I'm very happy to say that, with one notable exception, my nursing and all staff during my hospital stay were professional and caring. (I had one snotty, little b***h the day I checked out, but I got her straight!)

I love edamame with a little sea salt as a snack. I'm 2 weeks post-op today and I'm wi seeing when I can have it again. And pickles, too! I'm DYING for my pickles! Anyone know? Thanks y'all!

Heard back from my NUT and she said what you said UT, wait on edamame and pickles until soft foods phase. She said it was probably too soon for them during the puréed stage. So I have to wait 2 more weeks!

Choosing not to comment for a YEAR is deliberately withholding no matter how you look at it. The only thing in question is his motivation for such cruel behavior.

I know, right!! Those pickles are TWICE the size of our stomachs now! LOL

Back at work today. Boy I sure got spoiled not wearing a bra!! LOL Feeling a little shaky, but pretty good overall. How's everyone today?

Laparoscopically here, too, 6 incisions. Five never caused me any pain or discomfort but the "big one" did and still does from time to time.

I slep flat on my back in the guest bed (not as high as my bed). A physical therapist visited me in the hospital and taught me the best way to get up and down. It helped a lot!!

I couldn't drink cold Water at all the first 10 days or so. It had to be room temp and with some sort of flavoring, either Crystal Light or Ocean Spray. Are you drinking it cold?

It was such a relief after it was gone!!
