Jennifer SoFla replied to robin33's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Is the Facebook group private? Because not everyone on my current Facebook knows that I had the surgery, was just wondering before I look it up. -

Day 1 Post Op..? About Breathing
Jennifer SoFla replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well suck don't blow. Or the calls won't move.... But yes its normal, just keep trying. It hurts when you suck in hard but that's the point. To.make sure fluid doesn't build up in your lungs. Good luck! -
For All Low Bmi's -- How Much Weight Did You Loose In 90 Days?
Jennifer SoFla replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started with a BMI of 40 (that's what I needed for approval) I was a size 24, but I am tall. I am 5 Weeks post op tomorrow, and I had a seven day liquid diet prior to surgery and I am down 47 pounds and over 20". I'm still letting the 24's and 22's hang on me because I don't want to buy new pants but I am sure I could fit in a 20, and I've already went from and xxl to an xl top. Best decision I ever made!! -

Turns out he put on a lot of weight living in the closet because he was super depressed. Now he wanted his outside physique to match the new found love for himself... -
Wow pembroke pines, that's really close!! I bought some of the sugar free syrups at marshalls, but it was vanilla caramel etc. I wanted plain strawberry. But now I am 6 Weeks post op tomorrow so just using regular strawberries! This is the first week I have actually felt back to myself!!! Sooooo glad since I was starting to have major regrets!

Jennifer SoFla replied to anninva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello again! I'm 5 Weeks out from surgery and down 47 pounds including my one week pre-op,liquid diet... Surprisingly (to me) i'm only 60 pounds from my goal weight, something tells me I am going to wind up smaller than I had anticipated. So back to the story, once upon a time, in a land far away... There was a man... Who wanted to... -
Left Upper Abdominal pain
Jennifer SoFla replied to sam30204's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was having that same pain, went to the E.R and my gall bladder was completely obstructed and had to be removed. The gall bladder being obstructed can cause pancreatitis and that is what was actually causing the pain on the left. I was told it happens when you lose weight quickly. I had to stay in the hospital until my gall bladder surgery. Good luck! -
I just posted a similar post today about the sharp pain on the left side, turned out that it was my obstructed gall bladder on my right side but I was only feeling the pain on the left. Had my gall bladder removed 5 days ago and the pain on the left is gone.

Vsg Followed By Gall Bladder Sx
Jennifer SoFla posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi everyone, Some of you may recognize my name on here. I was sleeved on June 7th out of the hospital a few days later and was off pain meds right away. I thought it was successful except for the pain after I ate. No matter what went in a for a very sharp pain right below my left rib cage, it was awful and no matter what position I laid in the pain wouldn't subside. Until I would puke up whitish/clear flem. very few times did food actually come back up, it was really bizarre. Since I was afraid to eat I was taking in about 250 calories a day on a HIGH day, therefore I was getting very dizzy upon standing and even blacked out once. Finally exactly three Weeks to the day past surgery I was in so much pain that I went to the E.R. After a cat scan and ultra sound I was told nothing on my left looked out of the ordinary but my gall bladder was full of "sludge", they did three nuclear medicine scans and then determined that my gall bladder was completely obstructed (nothing going in or out) and I had a major case of pancreatitis because of it. I was admitted to the hospital and two days later, Saturday June 30th I was sedated AGAIN to have my gall bladder removed. Now the pain on my left is gone but I am in a lot of post surgical pain on the right, i'm sure being opened up twice in three Weeks before I was completely healed didn't help matters. When will I feel normal? The doctor told me the gall bladder gets obstructed from losing weight so quickly, but isn't that the point of the surgery. Why don't they just automatically take the gall bladder during the vsg surgery if this is so common. Any thoughts? Words of encouragement? I'm not eating again because everything makes me vomit.... And in so much pain I can barely stand up straight.... Completely miserable!! Anyone else have the surgeries so close together? -
I'm hooked on the Gerber graduate yogurt melts. Or Walmart has their parents choice brand. its freeze dried yogurt so it melts in your mouth. 1/4 cup is only 30 calories. Any grocery store will have them next to the baby food.

Just packed my bag for the hospital. I have to be at the hospital at 8am, so glad that it is so early. This clear liquid diet is a killer and I was afraid I would be waiting around till the afternoon. I was really nervous but I just got off the phone with a friend that I don't see very often, she said "the next time we get together you'll be a skinny Minnie" .... Just the thought of that being a possibility made me very excited!! Still so glad I found this forum a few Weeks ago, I,have learned so much and knew exactly what to put in my hospital bag!!

I got your request. Glad you found me. I'm supposed to start mushies next Thursday. I've already eaten pureed soup. Tonight I bought the Gerber graduate yogurt chips and they were perfect!! I also bought the graduate cheese puffs for some crunch since they dissolve. Both things you probably already have around with a one year old lol -

Yeah we definitely should do a play date once we are both recovered! Maybe at t.y park, my daughter loves the playground there. It is good to have someone so close by!!... I went through fertility treatments too about a year ago trying to have another baby through artificial insemination. I wish I would have had someone else going through that with me!! I ended up miscarrying in November which was my last straw and decided I needed to get my body right first and then I started my 6 month diet. Email me or look me up on Facebook Differdaze@AOL.com -

Haha. I wish I wouldn't have weighed but I couldn't resist. I'm going to weigh again Thursday since that'll be a Week and then I am going to have my partner/wife hide the scale until next Thursday so I am limited to once a week lol. Glad you have a little helper around!! -

Today things are going good..I stopped taking my pain mess... Still a little uncomfortable but tired of being groggy. Its hard when I have a very active 4 year old. However today, without the meds I have felt more discomfort while eating, I guess my tummy was numb before, so I guess that's a good thing. also when I stand up I am getting dizzy, I can only assume its the low blood sugar so I watered down a 1/4 cup of apple juice with a cup of water and that helped. I am happy about the process, down 18 pounds since my pre-op diet (12 days)!!! Only 115 more to go lol! How are you doing? -

It is is a really strange timing coincidence. Also that we are so close by, i'm pretty sure your name was on the list of patients in the same wing of the hospital I was in, when I was walking the halls. Lol I was in room 521, my fave nurse was Fatima =) although the lady that worked at night doubled my pain med dose so maybe she should be my favorite! Wow a fall bladder too, that's a lot, now I will stop complaining about my hernia repair lol. Glad you are getting around good, I am going to try pureed chicken noodle soup when I get home from class tonight, so we'll see how that goes!! -

Slim12, i'm wondering if you have your preferences set to get notified anytime someone comments on the thread. I got your first post that you were confused about my message, and now I just got this message. Both of my posts were directed at JenZ, I understand the confusion to.my questions since you are still pre-op. Either way congrats on your date, good luck and keep us posted! -

Well glad you are okay. I am able to keep liquids down, I haven't really eaten much of anything since I have no hunger or cravings at all. In my 4 days post op I have eaten a couple sugar free popsicles, some sugar free jello, I drank broth while at the hospital but not since i've been home. Last night I made a protein smoothie but it was thick so I ate it like ice cream, maybe three bites. Today I pureed a banana and ate that, literally that is all I have eaten. I am forcing myself to drink water because no matter how little I eat, about 15 minutes later I am in the restroom =O my shoulder pain is completely gone, but I still have a very sharp pain on my left side right below my ribs, the doctor said its where they detach the stomach from the abdominal wall. Also because of the hernia repair it feels like extra pressure pushing on my diaphragm. I am able to lay on my stomach now though and it feels really good!! Have you found anything that is agreeing with your new tummy and doing okay with liquids?
