  1. My office puts my fill in, keeps the needle in me and makes me situp and gulp a little glass of water, if I can 'gulp' it down she takes the needle out, if I couldn't, the needle is already inposition for an unfill.
  2. I am on the laxitive train, about 1x a week...............
  3. Now what..........you start eating smart, exercising smart and wait for your band to get restriction. Sounds like you are in good headspace and doing well. I am 3 months out and am not at restriction so can tell you that so far my fills have not made a difference. I believe this is one of the hardest steps because once again we feel like we are 'dieting'. Something suddenly clicked in me about 3 weeks ago and the sticking to 1cup, no slider food and healthy snacks suddenly became easier, not sure what it is. I can still eat anything, but I don't, and go to the gym regularly.......it's hard work, but I know it will pay off. Good luck to you.

Having a Hard Time Getting Motivated

Not sure anyone LOVES exercise. I do classes, 1hr and it's done. It is easy to talk myself out of them, but have my bagged packed in the car and go after work before going home............and I go on weekends (easier for me than weekdays). Good luck.

    Burping

I am almost 3 months out and I am the BEST burper in the world. I burp on a full stomach, an empty stomach, in the car, in spin class, with water..............I burp like it is my job!! Yes, very normal. (I thought I was also going to be the best farter in the world too, but thank goodness that has taken care of itself)

    Miserable Gas Pain

Gas x, heating pad, walking, peppermint tea. I think you are suppose to stay out of baths, hot tubs and swimming pools until all of your incisions have healed and there is no scabs.

    Before and after a fill. . .

I am not suppose to eat or drink 2hrs before a fill and am on liquids and pureed 2 days after a fill.
  8. I have had 2 fills and have felt nothing, might take a few more for me.

What is normal eating after a few fills?

Everyone is different, you need to be patient, and good things will come. Please do not think vomiting is going to help you, it could hurt you and cause slippage and another surgery to remove the band. If your surgeon is happy, keep on that track. You say you have had 4 fills, but each surgeon fills differently. I only get 1cc per fill and I have read that others got 5cc's on their first fill..........I have read that it has taken people 6-8 months and as many fills to feel restriction, everyone is different, so don't compare yourself to your friend.

    First Fill

Every surgeon is different, and you will learn that quickly on this board, no 2 bandsters have had the same rules, fills, pre op diets etc...........My first fill was 1cc and all fills after that are 1cc - there is no normal. good luck.
  12. It was a patient guide that my clinic gives all of their patients, talks about everything I need to know about the surgery, exercise, protein, step by step post op eating instructions........they armed me with a wealth of information.
  13. I must have been drunk when I wrote the above.............no fruits with seeds.............oops.
  14. Anything that comes out of you dark/black in color is a real cause for concern.........please get to a dr as soon as possible even if it is emergency.

    Day Five Feeling Weak!

What are you eating at this stage??? Are you getting your protein in? Stay hydrated
  17. Every surgeon is different, I was on why my clinic called 'full liquids' from days 3-14, that including yogurt, pudding, Soups (I added cottage cheese and blended it for the protein), smoothies (no fruits with berries), I ended up going back to my pre op Protein shakes for some of my meals. Best to contact your surgeon and see what they allow. I got an instruction manual the size of a university text book for every step of my journey......was my bible. good luck to you..........

    Received Huge Bill

I think they expect you to pay it................Did you talk to your surgeon (is this bill for 48k from your surgeon?)

    Ban Hell

You will be fine, it is a journey not a sprint. Had my first fill, no difference, second fill no difference........they say it could take up to 6 months and in that time you just have to be diligent as to what and how much you eat and the exercise you get in. Band Hell - unfortunatly, this is it. Good luck to you.
  20. Zero change/restriction on my first fill or my second fill..........I have my third fill in 2 weeks so am hoping to get a bit of restriction. Everyone is different, some people have lost alot of weight and have never had a fill. My clinic is very conservative in fills so I will probably take longer. good luck and congrats.

    Weight Loss

I lost 9lbs in my 2 week pre op, 10lbs my first week post surgery, and 8 lbs in the 10 weeks since........it's been slow, but I haven't gained, and am learning to eat like a banded person (without the restriction.)

    Not Losing - What's Up?

I am disappointed by my slow weight loss. Banded on Sept 17th, started pre op on Sept 2nd and am at 27lbs, 19 of those were pre op and 1st week post op. I am no where near restriction, trying to eat 1200 calories/day - more like 1100-1400 depending on the day and activity level. But am really trying. Am at the gym 4x a week. Going for my 3rd fill in 2 weeks. My clinic fills very slowely.........1cc at a time. At least I am not gaining, but after paying $16k, that is not really good enough right now.

    Sushi

    I haven't tried rice either...............

    Sushi

I have been banded for 2.5 months and can probably eat anything you are planning for your last 3 meals. Being banded never means you can't eat stuff again, I have read people on here lost over 100lbs and there isn't anything they can't eat. If I wanted to, I would certainly have a cheeseburger. I may weigh it to 4oz, not have a bun, but that is my choice. I have eaten Pasta, again measured and tracked. (don't eat sushi so can't help you there). Please don't think of some foods as 'never again', more perhaps, in moderation, 3oz of it. Please don't think of being banded as being deprived. My only thing I haven't eaten since being banded is a steak/pork chop (I have zero restriction so I am sure it would go down fine, but am scared) and salad (again, just afraid of getting stuck, but am going for it tomorrow!!!) Good luck to you, hope you are feeling better.
