Worried...!!?!
wildrose1966 replied to Aprilsnewlife's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you will be fine, I was on 14 days of opti fast, day 1 had to have crackers because of nausia with the taste and smell. Figured out how to improve on that. I did have 1 other bad day due to my lack of planning, and had surgery yesterday. Too out of it to ask any questions, but surgeon did say everything went fine. Good luck to you. -

Liquid Preop Diet-How Did You Make It??
wildrose1966 replied to Wgbem's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on day 13 - last day tomorrow. First 3 days were tough, but now, it is easy peasy. They are really filling and you have to try to get all of them in. (I was to have 4/day and didn't get there most days - 3 - 3.5). I found them easier to get down if they were ice cold, blended and drank them with a straw because I couldn't stand the smell. I added coffee and chocolate flavoring to the vanilla and drank the chocolate ones straight. Many other have added an assortment of SF syrups, crystal light etc. I stayed away from people who were eating and as I live alone, didn't have to cook for anyone. I even traveled out of country on business this week and packed my shaker jar and Optifast packages, and even made one on the plane as I was starving. It seems really tough on day 1 and I gagged my way thru them, but once you get them figured out, it really isn't that bad. Good luck. -
I feel like I am lying so much that my nose is growing. I have chosen not to announce to the world that I am having surgey (7 people know) and I work in a small office where everyone knows your business. As well, I work in sales so there is tonnes of entertaining, lunches and dinners. So far today I lied to the Hr manager about my 'vacation' next week and how I will be taking the week to golf and close up the summer house etc. I have a lunch scheduled the 1st day back to work which I asked a coworker to attend and a gala the day after that, where I just put in my meal request for a cream veggie Soup, no lumps. (although I am sure if they put the filet on my plate, I would have a grand old time licking it.) I have declined a 'team' dinner on my first day back to work. It is also strange that I would be taking 'vacation' when we are sooooo busy. My gig could be up soon if I don't remember my stories. I will eventually tell people I work with, but need to figure everything out first, for myself without people watching everything I eat or do or wanting to talk about it. I guess I could have just told people I am having surgery and that it is personal..........but I didn't. Monday morning at 7:30am..........life will change just a little bit.

Harder And Harder
wildrose1966 replied to wildrose1966's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Rhonda Marie.........I totally understand. None of these people are my close friends so what should I really care. Plus I know a few will be tomented when they can't figure out what is going on - hehe. I will tell them eventually, once I have figured my new lifestyle out myself. -

Harder And Harder
wildrose1966 replied to wildrose1966's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is on top of the stories I made up while making my optifast in the lunch room with a blender for the last 2 weeks..........I think the first day everyone was excited that maybe someone was making milkshakes and rushed to the kitchen, now nobody says anything. -
I am on the 17th as well, just got my call today to be in at 7:30am, first surgery of the day!!! good luck to you and keep in touch next week

Can you give me some suggestions as to how you manage to get in your 70g of Protein the 5 days post surgery, or is the goal to just keep hydrated. I will be on liquids (broth, Soup, yoghart, pudding, smoothies etc) thanks

Post Op Protein
wildrose1966 replied to wildrose1966's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can do shakes with fruit (no seeds), need them supercold so tend not to sip, guess I can make small portions. I figured I would measure out at least 50g of protein powder the first week and just add it to everything, soup, pudding, jello, til it's gone for the day. Being banded on Monday and starting to obsess -
I am in Canada and I pay one fee for life, fills, unfills, appointments, removal if need be.......pretty much patient for life. Every clinic is different, just another question you have to ask when looking for a surgeon that is right for you.

17th for me.

How To Loose Weight Before Lap Band
wildrose1966 replied to nenah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Depending on what your surgeon requires of you, you may or may not need to do this. It is medically supervised and my surgeon requires it, I even had to buy the shakes from his office. 4 a day for 2 weeks. The purpose is not for weight loss but to shrink the liver to make it easier and safer to do your surgery. -
Pre Op Diet Just 10 Days :)
wildrose1966 replied to lapbandct07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on day 10 of 14. Had a little backslide yesterday (didn't plan appropriatly for not being at home), but have brushed myself off and am back at it. The shakes really are not bad, and you are lucky you can eat real food..........I am on 4 shakes a day. -
It was also stressed to me to try to east most of my protein, not drink it.
