Baby's eat baby food, adults eat adult food. Blenderized anything - chicken, tuna salad, Wendy's chili, mashed potatoes (cautiously), sweet potato, mashed carrots, add blenderized cottage cheese to your soup for more protein, I was allowed well cooked pasta - didn't have it but it was on my list. good luck

We will miss the brunt of it, just windy right now and will rain in the next few days, but nothing major............good luck to you. -
Am I The Only Fluffy Girl From The North?

I don't think you should gulp, but drinking a bottle of water in a sitting won't hurt.

Drink away, you won't hurt your band or your pouch (I called my surgeons office and asked this question about 3 weeks ago) As the swelling goes down you will find yourself more hungry.

Traveling After Surgery
wildrose1966 replied to Slim&Sexi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone heals differently and has a different surgery experience, I has surgery at 8 was home by noon, slept the full night, was off pain killers the next day. No throwing up, was naturally lathargic from surgery, zero pain. I could sit, sleep on my side (had to wake up to roll over), walk for about 1/2hr at a time, but was pain free. Did need naps. I am only posting this because I don't want you to be frightened off by someone elses experience. I still wasn't ready to get in a car until Thurs (surgery was on a Monday). You have to do what is best for you and your family. -
Traveling After Surgery
wildrose1966 replied to Slim&Sexi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't count on being able to travel the next day............I would see if you can postpone your surgery and be there to support your family and brother. I am so sorry for your loss -
My Doc Only Gives 1 Cc (Max) Fills Per Month. Same For Everybody?
wildrose1966 replied to wifeoffireman2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My clinic is a 1cc fill clinic. Had my first one on Friday. I think they want to creep upon the sweet spot, instead of blowing past it and us having problems and unfills and trying to figure out where we need to be. . I am not a patient person, but I am not the one holding the needle with the fill. -
I Feel Like I Am At A Standstill With My Weight :(
wildrose1966 replied to jennbrenna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would up your calories to 1100 to 1200, your body may think it is starving. I am at 6 weeks and 24lbs since pre op, so I think we are doing okay. I had my first fill on Friday of 1cc. My clinic only does 1 at a time, pretty non negotiable. It is a slow and steady race and the would rather me creep up on my sweet spot then blow right past it and have troubles. -
I Feel Like I Didnt Even Have Surgery...
wildrose1966 replied to kmartinez973's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Drink as much as you want, you won't stretch the pouch. (I called my surgeons office on that when I realized I was drinking way more than the recommended oz per meal on liquids) You are good. -
Made both the chicken parm and zucchini and froze them. Defrost meat before reheating and zucchini easy to reheat, did them both in the microwave. Zuc could be done in a toaster oven just to crisp up. My mother makes them as well and last week at the zucchini cold as a snack.

We had the chicken parm and the zuccuni tots last night. the zuccuni is my fav, I suggest go easy on the onion and instead of making 12, double them up for 6. Have used ground turkey to substitute the chicken once too........supper yummy

Good luck to you.

Eat And Drink And No Issues

I have to consistantly remind myself at every meal not to drink, and it seems like I clock watch until I can..........hard habit to break. -
Eat And Drink And No Issues
wildrose1966 replied to fire_bellydancer's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't think it is a matter of being able to, it is the fact that we are not suppose to. Very different things. Drinking while eating makes the food pass faster. I can eat potato chips and chocolate bars with my band.........just because I can, doesn't mean I should. -
Getting Banded This Thursday- Question
wildrose1966 replied to GodsTyro's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was lathargic when I first awoke, dazed on the drive home and okay once I got home, stayed up all day, no naps. -
Starting Mushy Foods
wildrose1966 replied to mesmus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Scrambled eggs, blenderized chicken, tuna (add a bit of gravy or mayo) - this was my go to for the week of mush, consistancy of thick Peanut Butter but tasted like heaven after 4 weeks on liquids, blenderized Wendy's chili, sweet potato, mashed potato (in moderation), well cooked Pasta, continue with your Soup, smoothies, shakes. I had my first fill on Friday...........can't feel anything............think this will be a slow and steady journey. -
Keeping It A Secret
wildrose1966 replied to 4sweeties's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told 6 people prior to surgery, didn't want people giving me their opinions, didn't want to hear the 'bad' stories, didn't want people watching everything I ate or did. I am 6 weeks post op, and have told 3 more people, maybe some more family soon, but what is done is done and I don't really care anymore. I am certainly not announcing it on facebook nor am I telling people who I don't trust and consider friends, I have not interest in tell work people..........so I guess for me it is just one person at a time. -
Everyone heals differently. I have had zero surgery pain since I walked out of the surgery. The only pain I have had is shoulder gas pain........that is it........I consider myself very lucky.

Question For Others Who Have Been Banded A While
wildrose1966 replied to lauradevans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you currently dealing with your own surgeon or an emergency room / hospital doctor? Sometimes there is Fluid in your band from surgery, have they checked that and taken it out? 2 more surgeries would be terrible, however, you do have to take care of yourself and your health. good luck. -
Wedding Meal Decision 10 Weeks Out From Surgery..
wildrose1966 replied to Banderina's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would go with chicken or salmon...............or the shrimp alone.................I wouldn't risk beef in public. -
It seems I am starting a list of foods, I should be able to eat that have given me such bad gas pains that I would be afraid to try them again any time soon. The first is Beans...........on my mushy stage, I had gas so bad that I had to leave work as I was in pain............this lasted almost 12hrs. I had a fill yesterday morning, so had mushroom Soup for dinner (restaurant). I maybe had 1/3 of a cup, no chunks just soup and the gas and pain were as bad as the beans, even got shoulder gas pain, which I haven't had in about 2 weeks..............it didn't last as long thank god, but enough to make me extremely uncomfortable. Mushrooms Beans Anything on your list that isn't the obvious (breads etc)
-
Sorry, I can't help you much as I have not had any pain, except from my beans and mushrooms. My gas pains were all in my shoulders. I don't think I 'feel' my band at all. I would guess it could still be gas, but doesn't hurt to contact your dr.

Ideas For The "mushie" Stage Please
wildrose1966 replied to Joy1961's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you talking about full liquids right after surgery (yogurt, pudding, soup etc) or the next stage (my surgeon called it pureed and blenderized) - mashed potatoes (be careful with pot. easy to overdo it), sweet potatoes, chicken salad, tuna salad...........my go to was the chicken salad, in the blender had the consistancy of thick peanut butter (add a bit of moisture) but it was soooooo good after a month of liquids. Wendy's chili in a blender was recommended, but I didn't have. Soft pasta I was only on that stage for 7 days.
