My clinc said popsicles were a treat........meaning 1 a day was too many. I could also have Jello. I was also allowed 1 serving of fruit and 1 of veggies. Make your shakes super cold, I added instant coffee to try to mask the taste and at the beginning, I could stand the smell so I used straws. good luck.

Just keep sipping all day........not sure what kind of post op eating plan you are on, but you are healing, do what you can. I had a hard time with the protein as I couldn't tolerate any of the powders or supliment drinks. My clinic was more concerned with me staying hydrated the first week or 2 than getting my protein in. They did suggest that I go back to my pre op optifast shakes and that helped alot. You won't die........just stay hydrated for now.

Congratulations, keep up the good work!!!! Walking uses alot of muscles that we tend not to use when we do other exercises. I go to the gym very regularly, but I don't walk at the gym. When the weather is nice I try to stay outside and walk instead of go to the gym, I am usually sore for a few days, the muscles that I don't use spinning or doing weights or intervals.............. Walking is very good for you and you can do it anywhere, anytime!!!!

1200 Calories A Day - Starvation?
wildrose1966 replied to bandedsandi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You can customize your MFP account to the calories you want then you won't get that message every day and your daily goal will be what you set it to. -
I never had bad reflux, coffee would give me heartburn, tea sometimes, ground beef. I still eat/drink all of those but haven't had an ounce of heartburn since. I did not have a hernia repair.

How Long Does The Surgery Take?
wildrose1966 replied to RichGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on the table at 8am, remember asking the recovery nurse the time at 10:20 and home by 11:30. Think the actual surgery was about 1hr-1hr15m. I was on the operating table for a bit while they did the IV and hooked me up to the monitors. -

wildrose1966 replied to lovely29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
About 4 weeks that I actually chewed something. -
Question for those of you on myfitnesspal..........when you add exercise, it gives you more calories in your daily total........do you regularly eat those calories???

I told my nurse that I should maybe get a tattoo - X marks the spot of my port, she laughed and said as we lose weight the spot might change...........she has it marked in her files where it is, so she usually hits it first try.

How Long Should I Take Off Of Work?
wildrose1966 replied to Jenny12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was one of those lucky ones that had no pain and bounced back quickly. I took a week off, have a desk job, could have gone back sooner, but I didn't. -
Burping is a new way of life. Please don't be eating baby food, you are not a baby. There are many options in the adult food spectrum that you eat pureed and blenderized that give you way more protein and nutrition.

Get a laxitive or stool softener in you. My nurse started talking about this 1 day post op. Gotta get things moving. -

Dr. Brett Cohen-Anyone Use Him?
wildrose1966 replied to **IP~LB**'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will quickly find out that every dr is different and everyone is following a different set of instructions. Just follow what your dr gives you and you will be just fine. -
Get over it CG You were not rude yesterday (or more of us would have told you so). When people come and ask opinions they should be prepared to hear things they like and don't like........and to be called out by someone who didn't even ask your opinion was not called for. All is good, have a super weekend

Banded On Tuesday, Horrible Mirgaine, Still On Liquid Phase Any Suggestions?
wildrose1966 replied to cristal65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stay hydrated and take care of yourself. -
Your swelling is going down, your band has no restriction so in all reality it is not working right now, you have been on liquids for far too long and you are probably plain hungry. Please do not eat 'whatever', stay in your dr's orders and keep to small portions, lots of protein and stay away from the slider foods.

Should I Or Shouldn't I?
wildrose1966 replied to dublinbandgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With a low bmi, you will probably have to be self pay. I paid $16,000 from my own pocket to get the band, I am 5'8" and right now can dream of being 200lbs. If I was 200 and wanted to lose more I am not sure I would have paid the $16,000.............. -
2 months, 2 fills, no restriction.........everyone is different.

wildrose1966 replied to lovely29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
