Finally hit ONEderland yesterday!!! I hope all of my sleeve twins are doing well. One month before surgery: 4 months after surgery: (I have a kazoo in my mouth. I was kazoo'ing "Happy Birthday" to my friend while she was taking the photo!) And I'll be on an airplane next month for the first time since surgery. I'm scared, nervous, apprehensive, excited, and all of those other emotions - but not about the flight. I can't wait to see how well I fit (or don't ?!?!?) in the seat now!!!

  11. I'm in need of a reply when a friend says to me: "It wasn't God's intention for us to remove 80% of our stomachs. It's too drastic. It's not natural. Diet & exercise - AND STICKING WITH IT - are what you need to do. I've always said that." My reply was: "Breast implants weren't God's intent, but you got those." Her reply: "But they can be removed. You're taking out 80% of your stomach & you can't put it back." Any KINDLY WORDED suggestions will be greatly appreciated, as she is, after all, my BFF, so I am not looking to disregard her feelings. ** NOTE: After several responses, I have edited this post to also say: Everyone's opinion is valid; however, I personally believe in God & pray continually that I am making the right decision & that he is walking beside me, or carrying me, through this. I am requesting KINDLY WORDED responses. If you do not believe in God or that this is not a God issue, then I kindly request that you not reply to this post. Thank you.

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

I'm in a stall, myself, right now. I'm sure the sweet tea & Chai Lattes have NOTHING to do with that. But I'm learning my lesson. These things are not conducive to weight loss but more like weight maintenance. Therefore, they need to be put back on the no-no list until the other 50 lbs come off. Sigh.
  13. You can also get them at: http://www.laurenshope.com Mine has this engraved: GASTRIC SLEEVE NO BLIND NG TUBE NO NSAID/ASPARTAME (I added "aspartame" since I'm allergic to it)

You're doing great!!! Keep up the good work. Congrats!!!
  15. She's unhappy about the stall. The stall that we ALL hit. The stall that EVERYONE complains about. The stall that EVERYONE who has been through it says it will be over soon. The stall that we've all said will happen & posted advice about that you shouldn't weigh yourself every day because you'll get frustrated. The stall that we've all encountered, posted about, and suggested that you should also be measuring yourself because you still lose inches when your body is rebelling against the major trauma it just went through. Stay off the scales, people. You're not doing your psyche any favors by getting frustrated on a daily or weekly basis.
  16. Just to clarify: the loss of the appendectomy patient was in 2009. This is now 2012/2013 & he has performed SEVERAL HUNDRED WL surgeries since then with NO loss of life. I understand your concerns but hope you'll both reconsider. I could not have had a better surgery or follow-up experience.

Wow! Look at you!! The change is very noticeable. Have you been taking measurements? That's how I am able to prove to myself that I'm getting smaller when I can't see it for myself. Congrats & keep on keepin' on!!
