What Am I Doing Wrong?
COnative replied to soccermom1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great! It feels so good when it doesn't make you feel sick! That is a good sign! -
I usually wait 3 hours sometimes more depending on what food I ate. The higher the protein the longer it sustains me.
-
I try to eat 4 times a day (minimum) I feel like I can only take a few bites at a time so to get my calories, I try for 1000, I eat 4 - 5 times a day.

How Far Out Before You Can Eat A Little Of Anything?
COnative replied to Strangefruit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started experimenting at 5 weeks with just about anything. Granted I only took one bite and waited around 10 minutes to see if my body was going to refuse it or not. I was cleared to eat food at 5 weeks. It's so crazy how different doctors opinions are. But that was my experience. Good luck! Oh- and I eat anything right now except salads and uncooked veggies- body has a hard time with those foods still. -
What Am I Doing Wrong?
COnative replied to soccermom1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing nothing wrong. A lot of us had to take a step back because what our doctors say and what our bodies tell us can be very different sometimes. It sounds like your body isn't quite ready to move forward. I would go back to clear liquids and try again in a few days. Hang in there! What you are going through is completely normal- not fun. All the best! -
Great job! I bet you feel amazing! I am going to be so excited to get down in the 170's!! Thanks for posting it's an inspiration!

Panic Attack After Seeing This Website...
COnative replied to does not matter's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Give your family some time. My mom threw me out of her house when I told her what I wanted to do. I was devastated- I have never been thrown out of my parents house. But then she came around after I provided more information and documentation that getting surgery in Mexico isn't as scary as it sounds. Americans wouldn't even be going to Mexico if our health care system was better. I think you are making a great decision that will better your life. I had my surgery down in the beginning of September in Mexico. Had a great experience and felt the care was superior to what I have had here in the states. As my surgery got closer it was a running joke among friends to make sure I bring both my kidneys back with me. But with the proper information my parents felt better and so did my friends. Hang in there. Your family loves you, they will come around. -

Am I Doing This Right?
COnative replied to TheNEWME!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you are doing great and this all sounds good. I was eating all the same things except mayo- it made me feel really sick for some reason. Don't fret about the weight- I hit a 3 week plateau right around one month from surgery. So 1 pound is still really good. You are going to lose no matter what! Don't worry- enjoy the ride -
That does seem crazy! I think it is amazing and very kind that you tried! We need more people like you in this world. Wishing you the best.

Losing Weight But I Don't See It.....
COnative replied to vanessabalderas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with Delta_Girl. I didn't notice a thing until I was 25 pounds out either. And didn't go down a size till I was 30 pounds out. Hang in there- it won't be long before you see and feel the changes. -
I'm eating just about anything but salads they still make me nauseous. Like you I am trying to eat mostly protein or cooked veggie and very little sugar. But when its that time of the month- I've gotta have some chocolate

I had my surgery 10 weeks ago and for me it was the best decision I have ever made for myself. Like you I have yo yo'd my entire life and tried almost every diet and every cleanse. My only wish is that I had this surgery done years ago. I am 39 and I finally said enough is enough- it isn't going to get any easier the older I get and there seems to be a pattern here that I just can't break. I also have been seeking mental help because I want to make sure that my eating habits aren't emotional ones and if they are I need to take care of them before I sabotage my future with my sleeve. I think you are making a decision you only know the answer to. But I think you will find the majority of the folks on here are very happy with their progress. I think you will be amazed if you go through with it. One of the best things I have discovered with this surgery is that I feel "satisfied" after a few bites instead of eating 3-4 helpings before feeling satisfied in the past. I wish you the best and good luck with your decision!!!

Queasiness Still After 4Weeks
COnative replied to terri1970's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sure, you are welcome. I agree though- feeling sick sucks- no fun at all. But it will get better. There are better days than others. And the better days get to be more and bad days less. -

Queasiness Still After 4Weeks
COnative replied to terri1970's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 10 weeks out and still get nauseous when I eat something new- every time. It is frustrating. And I have figured out pretty quick that I can no longer have mayo or avocados. Hang in there- I am sure it gets easier. Sometimes I just don't get much food in because the sick feeling gets to me faster than I can consume enough food. I can even drink water and get nauseous- weird! We'll get through this- -
That is awesome!!!! I am half way too and it feels great!!!! Keep up the great work! We will be there before we know it!!!

1 Month Out Calorie Ranges?
COnative replied to earth2terra's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow. I'm eating more than all the replys here. I eat 900-1200 per day. Maybe I should cut it down. But I'm still losing! :-) -
When Did Your Doctor Say You Could..... And When Did You?
COnative replied to Pinky Green's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with you. I am a casual user and it doesn't give me the munchies and it helps to keep the nausea away when I am trying new foods. Not to mention it helped me to keep food down instead of vomiting. I haven't had any negative side effects.
