    Sleevers In Colorful Colorado?

It would be a 90 minute drive- I'm checking my schedule to see if I can leave from work early enough so I don't get caught in rush hour on C470. I wish I was closer.

    Sleevers In Colorful Colorado?

I would be interested in the support group! Is it in Colorado?
  5. It's funny but not- I feel like I have spent that much money trying to find a Protein powder I like or that I am not sick of! It's tough!!!
  6. As soon as I could eat regular food I went back to my regular vitamins and didn't have a bit of trouble. And mind you, I take 6 solid vitamin pills. Good luck. If anything I would try one and see?

    Energy shot

OMG thank you so much! I used to drink these ALL the time pre-surgery. I will definitely take it slow if I start on them again. Thank you thank you thank you!
  8. That is tough question but I will give it a shot. I think my threshold number will be lower than most because I had two previous abdominal surgeries. First was my appendix and second was an ovary removal. So when I was sleeved it was totally comparable to both of those surgeries. So the day of surgery my pain was a 7, the next day a 3-5, and the days following was a 1 or 0. Starting the fourth day I was pretty much pain free except for the occasional cough or sneeze. I think the feeling for me was being uncomfortable. Hope that makes some sense. But seriously, I don't have children, so anyone who has had a baby is going to find the surgery a breeze I would think. But like I said- I have never had a baby but that sounds way worse. I hope I answered your question. All the best!
  9. This is going to be way TMI but I wasn't in to it till one day I was on top and for once, since surgery, I didn't feel like I was crushing my husband. I suddenly could let go. What a great feeling. It will get easier- try not to stress too much about it- I know it is hard. I definitely went through the motions too after surgery because I knew how important it was to my hubby to have that intimacy. Hang in there.

    Advice with coughing postop?

I found the only way I could cough was to hug a pillow hard at the same time. It still is painful but at least it doesn't feel like your insides are going to come undone. It's tough because I believe your diaphragm is right behind the stomach and contracts when you cough. I just tried to keep in mind that I am not hurting anything by coughing so I just tried to get it over as quick as possible. Good Luck- it will soon get a lot easier.

    Christmas gift!

That is great! You look great! Keep it up- sounds like you have some great momentum!!!!
  13. Hmmmmm... It almost sounds like you are sucking air down when you eat. I had a similar problem cuz I was eating too fast. My husband used to have to burp me like a little baby. Maybe, I know this will be painful in it self, try to eat slower and make sure you are never eating and drinking at the same time. Good Luck!

8 weeks out and feeling doubt...

Some doctors are really stupid. You are doing great! Sounds like you are right on track and in many ways ahead of a lot of us! Great Job! You are going to keep losing- especially since you are trying so hard but don't get discouraged if you hit plateaus here and there- we all do. Keep up the great job- that's what your doctor should have said! Good grief- I think I would either have cried when the doctor said that or I would have told him to stick it. I am sorry that the one person you feel you should trust through this journey has let you down. Keep coming back here!!!! We'll support you!!!!!
  15. Good Grief! I am sorry you had this happened to you!!! You would think it would be a breeze next to the sleeve but I guess not. Sending you good thoughts and hope you can still enjoy your holiday. All my best.

    Hair Loss

That is a good question! I haven't lost any hair yet but it still might be to early to say that as I am only about four months out. So hopefully I can give us hope! I haven't been taking any supplements to help support my hair either- I know some people are taking biotin, zinc, iron, hair and nail supplements and using special hair care products but I haven't tried any of that. I will keep you posted! And I will keep my fingers crossed for the both of us

    Scared of...

You guys are going to do great! I am 3 and a half months out and can enjoy all the foods I could pre-op. I love cooking too! It is soooo nice to get satisfied with eating a FRACTION of what I could before. Eating out with friends........I still use the excuse that I am seriously trying to lose weight for a change and according to myfitnesspal I can only eat just a little. Friends will understand without you giving yourself away. Remember complications are uncommon. And very normal to worry about. In fact, I think that was my first post on here was about leaks. THIS SITE is a great source of support! USE IT! I really wish you all the best- I am so excited because for this year, for Christmas I am LOSING weight not putting on the usually 10- 15 pounds! You are going to rock your sleeve- I have no doubts!
  18. Wow! Sounds like you are on the right track, finally! What a journey you must have had!!! Great job on the 13 pounds! That is awesome!!! Hope the rest of the pounds come off as easily!!!
  19. YEAH! I spoke too soon! Bottoms up!!! Cheers!
  20. LOL. Not really laughing because I can remember that thought of, "I'd kill for just a SIP of water". I think I had to wait almost 12 hours before I could get ice chips and at that point it tasted like the best ice cream I had ever had. Hang in there- the reward is coming! Just remind yourself you aren't getting dehydrated, even though it may feel that way, because you are still getting IV fluids. But man.....its tough! And remember too- we were ALL at that point. Hang tough!!! This will soon be a distant memory!

    No alcohol ever?

Ummm... I think there are plenty of people on here that do have the occasional glass of something that can tell you first had nothing, that I know of, happens to their body- myself included. There are definitely very opposing opinions on the subject but I, myself, believe everything in moderation. I have never heard on here that your stomach can become nercrotic and there have been tons of posts regarding the subject of drinking alcohol after being sleeved. I wish you all the best and Happy Holidays!

    Is the whole world nuts?

WOW! I am a swimmer myself and that has ALWAYS been common knowledge as far as sharing a lane WHETHER THERE IS A SIGN POSTED OR NOT! That was totally selfish and rude of that guy! I hope he gets kicked out of that center, really. I used to run a health center and I can tell you if it were me, I would 86 that dude! There just isn't enough room in any health center for bad etiquette! Just wanted to vent with you Thanks

    Cravings still high

Wow 30kg!!! That is AWESOME! You are definitely doing something right! The cravings are really tough!!!! A member on here gave me a really good book to read, not sure if you are interested, but if you are here you go! It is all about cravings and the way the food industry has manipulated our senses making us over eat and send our cravings out of control and ways to re-program our minds to override those cravings. It has really helped me. Hope you get a chance to look at it. The End of Overeating by David Kessler, MD. I wish you all the best!!!
