September 3rd with Dr. Alvarez :-)

Can you add a fiber supplement? That always seems to make me feel fuller. I have capsule fiber and powder. Hope you find a solution! I hate feeling hungry- I think I speak for most. :-)

Thanks to all of you who are sharing your experience with Dr. Alvarez! I meet with him on the 30th and get sleeved on Sept 3rd. I am getting more and more excited and less nervous the more I read here from you guys. I will be able to contribute soon to this topic. Hi I am new, first post actually and I have been going through a lot of information on this site but I have a question that I have not really seen the answer for-trying not to be too repetitive. Those of you that have had leaks from the gastric sleeve surgery: how did you know? how did it feel? I am assuming you had to go back in for surgery to remedy the problem? That is my only worry about my upcoming surgery and although I can see it is not common, I'm still worried. Thank you soooo much for your time, in advance.

There are other really good doctors in Mexico that will do the procedure for a lot less. I think Dr. Kelly is one. This site has been the most helpful for me to find the right doctor for me. And I am with u on the low bmi. When I first considered the procedure the first thing friends and family said was gee your not really that fat. But this has been the fifth time in my life I've been this heavy and as we all know it only gets harder with time and enough is enough! But good luck- I guarantee u will find someone u r happy with from this site. All the best!

Thanks for your comment any congrats! I am flying down to meet Dr. Alvarez at the end of this month and plan to get sleeved by him Sept. 3. Your story confirms I picked the right doctor! :-)

I personally have not but have massage clients who have and it looks great. When I get sleeve and faced with the same issue I am more inclined now to do it since I have seen how well they have turned out. Of course the most important part is to find an artist you really like and whose work really connects with what ideas you may have. Good Luck! :-)

Only you know what's in your heart as far as if you should do this now but after reading so little about you it sounds like you will always have a lot going on in your life. Just do it! My surgery isn't until September- I am already a little nervous. But focus on the new life you are going to have! I am so happy to know this is the last summer I am going to spend really heavy. This will be your moment. There are sooo many of us here to support you no matter what. Sounds like your best friend has a busy life too- don't we all right? She will be there, you'll see. You can do this- you are making the step to a healthier life for yourself and that in itself can only help your family and every one who is around you. Hang in there.

I agree with the above. Isn't it nice to have a solution! I am 38 and I want to live and be healthier. I want my weight to not get in my way with all the things I want to do in this life! Enough is enough! Right?

Thank you low BMI's for sharing! I also have a low BMI and wasn't going to mention it because I thought I might be the minority of minorities. I really have enjoyed this thread!

I also have been watching a lot of YouTube blogs and found it very helpful to see the actual procedure and to get more of a "feeling" of what people go through from pre to post and beyond. I highly recommend it to everyone. It can be very uplifting and motivating through hard times. So thanks to those brave few who put themselves out there!
