Friend Telling Me She Has A Vision I Will Die--Nice!
COnative replied to 2013isit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good grief! I think your friend needs to sensor herself a little. I can't imagine saying that to a friend!!!! So much for being supportive! I am still in shock that she would say that to you! Does she ever have a positive premonition? -
Hey, just wanted to say thank you for the link! It is very interesting!

WOW. It sounds like you could be mildly allergic to the type of protein powder you are consuming. I get all of those side effects with soy protein and a little bit with whey but no side affects with rice protein. It sucks to feel crapy like that. Gas X strips are frickin' amazing for bloating and pain from gas. I hope you feel better soon!!!!!!

This is tough. It just depends on how much you value your friendship. A simple question to ask her to see if she opens up is, "have you ever considered having weight loss surgery?"
-
This is tough. There is no regulation on nutritional supplements which makes it easy to be deceived. I personally look for brands that either are pharmacutical grade like: metagenics, pure incapsulations, and thorne. But I agree with Cookeeeez, love that name, you get what you pay for usually. Another company that spends a lot of money on research and development are shaklee vitamins. I have tried all brands above and have been pleased with the product as none of them have upset my stomach. Good luck with your search!

Deciding On Surgery...does Anyone Regret Having The Vsg?
COnative replied to ladyhummingbird's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I sure don't regret it! I just had it done at the begining of the month. I have been a professional yo-yoer all my life and decided enough is enough! It only gets harder to loose as we age and for once I want a solution that will help me the rest of my life. My Dad sure knew it because he had gone through what I have been going through my whole life so he even paid for me to have this done. Sure, the day after surgery I was like, "What the hell did I do to myself". But now- 16 pounds lost, not feeling hungry all the frickin' time and getting full with a 1/2 a cup of soup. Wow does it feel nice to feel full after so little. I think the only regret people will have is, why did I wait so long and why didn't I do this years ago. I really wish you the best and only you know what's right for you. The fight is over for me- I am ready for this new life of not hiding or trying the next fad diet. -
That is awesome! Good for you!!!! Feeling empowered is a beautiful thing!!!!!

I couldn't agree more! I used them soooo much the first week and a half. They were life savers!!!!

Calories And Protein
COnative replied to Readytolose2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ahhhhh.... I would love to hear that a walk around the block would be the cure to all of this and it just might be that easy. Try it for a week- I bet you will get some pretty fantastic results. -
Hang in there! Clear liquids are hard!!!!! I feel like we should win the lottery each time we make it through a phase without cheating. I think you are strong enough to get through this! Keep coming back here for support. Nothing is better than knowing we are all struggling with the same issues, mostly around food. You will get through this!

Calories And Protein
COnative replied to Readytolose2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Karen :-) Have you started incorporating exercise yet? I wonder too if that is enough calories.... Hmmmm... I haven't actually started counting calories yet. Twenty pounds is amazing in less than a month!!!!!! Great job there!!!! It's great to hear you are doing well. Since you and I have lower bmi's I wonder if your body just says I need a break from loosing and just need to maintain for a bit. I have definitely seen on here where lower bmi's loose at a much slower rate. WHO KNOWs I think you are on the right track! -
I want to say I am sorry for what you are going through too! Please keep coming back here for support. You too will get through this setback! Hang in there!!!!!! Sending good thoughts.

Pain meds really helped and I walked the halls of the hospital every 30 minutes, two laps. I think walking was the key.
-
It will soooooooo get better!!!!! I can relate! Day two was the worst day ever for me so hang in there you will get through this and every day you will feel a little better. Hang in there!!!!!
-
DITTO! I actually melted some chocolate a week and a half after surgery and had a tablespoon just to kill my craving. I feel your pain! These protein shakes aren't doing it for me at all!!!!

Should I Be Concerned For My Safety Piedras Negras, Mexico? For My Vsg
COnative replied to yanik's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't worry about it either. Had mine done there two weeks ago and you are like a block across the border. I felt through the entire process. -
Coping With Strong Cravings While On The Liquid Diet Post-Op
COnative replied to going_down's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've been thinking of doing the same thing! I wouldn't think it is bad if you trust yourself not to swallow. Did I just say that out loud. LOL But no, all joking aside I think you need to be a little careful with spicy food but other than that I think it's okay. Let's see what others say. -
