Hang in there! Sorry to hear that you are having a downer time- thanks for posting. Just remember all of "us" has your back.

That is almost an impossible question because every doctor is different and has a different way for your post-op healing. I think that is why you are getting different views and opinions.

Pain At Incision Site 4 Weeks Post Op
COnative replied to teatimed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 8 weeks out and still, sometimes, have certain incisions that are sensitive and hurt. But I have had two previous abdominal surgeries and for me it seems totally normal. -
You are starting an amazing journey. I am so excited for you! Good Luck! November 5th will come faster than you know it.

I don't see why not. I can't handle whey so I am doing rice protein.

COnative replied to thewellkeptwoman's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Thanks for posting! I am always looking for a different protein powder. -
Huh, I haven't had any problems either. I have an android phone I use it on and I also access it on my PC.

No, not that I know of. Your stomach is so small that the air bubbles in pop can really cause some serious pain. Sorry I didn't give good news.

I would totally go back on liquids! Why be miserable!? I would touch base with your Doc too. I feel your pain but have managed to fight to keep stuff down. Hang in there- you are not alone. And it WILL get easier! Promise.

Finally! The Stall Is Over And The Scale Is Moving! Whew!
COnative replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for posting- I was going through a stall at the same time- they are tough and it is hard not to doubt having the surgery. I can't wait to get to the 40 pound mark. Great job!!! -
Great job!!!! I usually order a side too but my hubby usually lets me have a bite or two of his steak or hamburger which really helps. Keep up the good work!!!

What Questions Should Be Asked Pre-Surgery?
COnative replied to Getting There's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me the most important questions were: How soon till I can really workout again- like take cardio classes. And the other question was how soon can I go back to my massage practice. But that was about it. I did a lot of on-line research to find my doctor especially on similar sites as this one. I also went and visited the two doctors I was thinking about to really get the one that felt right to me. -
Protein Drinks Are So Sweet!
COnative replied to twoolley's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Great suggestions! I hate sweet stuff too but have resorted to unflavored protein powders but I am definitely interested in trying that peanut butter one and I keep meaning to give unjury a try. Thanks for the post! -
Sharp Pains In Left Shoulder And Left Aide Of Tummy
COnative replied to dee92's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I couldn't agree more. -
My experience was I lost 20 the first 4 weeks then had a 2 and a half week stall. I posted my concern and everyone, I mean everyone, told me its normal and to have patience because the weight will come off. And well, by the end of that week- I started to lose again. I really feel it would be impossible to NOT lose weight unless you have a hidden medical issue keeping you from it.

You look fabulous! Thanks for sharing your pics! Keep it up!!

My doctor said I can and made sure to give me a nice receipt for all the expenses. I am counting on it since I am self paid.
-
Its interesting. I used to drink two glasses at a time but find that one glass is perfect and I don't even desire more.
-
at week 5, 6, 7, 8- I know it's empty calories and could even slow my weight loss but I really enjoy it.
-
5 weeks.
-
I tried Bailey's at week 4 - had to run to the bathroom (emergency #2). And I have been having a couple glasses of wine every week since without trouble and I am at week 8. Just be careful- its no joke you could get drunk faster than you might want.I haven't tried a drink with more sugar in it though....hmmmmm.... I think you are smart by staying away carbonation. Good Luck!

I asked my surgeon that question and it is based on your BMI. Which tells me- the more you need to lose the more likely you have to do a pre-op diet. I didn't have to do anything before surgery except stop eating at 11:00pm the night before.
-
When I started on solid food I was told I could also go to my hard pill vitamins again. But I can only take one hard pill at a time and sometimes it still makes me feel sick but fight to keep it down cuz I know its good for me. I'm 7 almost 8 weeks post-op
-
Yup, same for me too. I kind of like it.

That is great! That's about what I lost my first month- feels good! Doesn't it!? Keep up the great work!
