I am on the 14th and that is exactly how I feel.
  3. Have you ever tried Peppermint Tea? Or steeping ginger root and drinking that?

    Yogurt

Yes, I buy plain fat free greek yogurt and sprinkle a little crystal light in it. My nutritionist makes her own because she eats so much of it. She does not use a special machine - as MamaM said - google it!
  5. I am June 14th too, I am not emitional, mostly excited!

    All The Things

Crystal Light is something I heard was useful. I also bought Isopure and am drinking that now during my pre op clear liquid only diet.
  8. I can't wait to be venting about such things! Hope you found something and enjoyed church with your Mom.
  9. Wow! I'll never say it again either! Thanks for sharing.

The Worst Decision I Ever Made

Thinking healing thoughts for you! HUGS
  11. Only my husband knows. I have done all liquid diets before, so no one will even question why I am not eating or drinking. If all goes according to plan, I am just going to let people observe what I actually eat. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that one will lose weight eating that little.
  12. I travel alone with some regularity, so this part is not nerve wracking to me. Here is a tip. Leave more time than you think you need, then you won't be worried about finding your way taking too long. I'll be leaving Wednesday (alone) for San Diego, I'll try to gather some notes for you on the airport. Are you with Dr. Kelly? If so, I'll take more notes on where you meet Omar.

    Chickening Out!

I see you are new here. After some time, you will see that a significant amount of people here are actually band to sleeve revisions. There seem to be more complications with the band. Leaks are the exception and would happen early on. There are risks with any procedure, but it seems to me almost everyone has some complication with the band. Also, look around at people that get pregnant with the band - I have no idea how common it is, but everyone I know with the band that got pregnant had it slip and had to have surgery again to fix it. I would be willing to bet that a lot of people came to the decision of the sleeve AFTER they were convinced that they would be getting the lapband. Then they researched a little more and came upon the sleeve and decided the sleeve was the way to go. Good luck with your decision and poke around this forum a lot, there is a wealth of information. One last thing, maybe take your Mom to a sleeve seminar where she can learn more about it.
  16. FYI on the Miralax - it takes three days to work. I can't say for post op, but when it was necessary in the past (usually due to pain killers), it takes three days. I personally find great relief with Senna tea. (Not any other Senna product - like in the laxative aisle). I buy it at a Whole Foods or similar type place. DO NOT drink an entire cup! Just about a 1/4 to a 1/2 cup usually works wonders. I plan on doing this proactively after surgery - probably just a few sips a day.

    Should I Be Hungry?

I am glad I read this post because I can tend to run a low grade fever for seemingly no reason. I'll watch and make sure it doesn't go over 101.
  18. This was my approach. We were taking a walk and I said "So, as you know I have been on every diet known to man. I have been working this last one for 5 months. I now have a grasp on what is realistic. I have begun researching surgical options. I think I have found the right one for me." Then if he is like most men, just stop talking and let him process what you have said. If he is one to react rather than process, then be prepared to call on his superman desires. Example - Him - "I hope you haven't done anything about this" - or something to that measure. Then you must admit what you have done then seek his counsel. You - "Yes, I have and now I am so scared, can you please help me?" I was lucky in that my husband was immediately curious as to what the options were and what were the risks - basically the right questions and being supportive. Good luck!
  19. So glad everything went well! I fly out Wednesday for surgery with him on Thursday.

Can I Leave The Husband At Home?

I am going to MX alone on Wednesday. He definitely would have come with me, but I just wanted to sleep when I wanted, watch movies when I wanted, fart when I wanted, lol. With him there, I would have been worried he was bored, if he had eaten...
