Thank God, A Protein Shake That Does Not Taste Like Butt!
thinmymind replied to hm734's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Optifast are really good, I am making my way through my stash from pre-op. I bought a cookies and cream RTD that was so nasty, I think it is money wasted, there is no way I can get those in. My favorite by far is the Unjury unflavored. I mix it with chocolate milk, ice cubes and decaf instant coffee. Love it, tastes like something you get at a milkshake place not a protein drink. I just had ON Whey Gold Standard Rocky Road protein powder and it was okay. -
Omar & Dr. Kelly - Tipping
thinmymind replied to SunnyCox's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I asked Omar for the address to mail him something before I left, here it is: 4492 Camino Del La Plaza Suite 1279 San Ysidro, CA 92173 -
My BMI when I contacted Dr. Kelly was 32, by the time I had surgery it was closer to 30. Now, 18 days later it is almost 27.

Would You Do It Again For Just 70 Pounds To Lose?
thinmymind replied to JLOR's topic in The Gals' Room
I started my plans at a bmi of 32 also. By the time I went into surgery it was closer to 30. I am only 18 days out, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I am down 17 pounds since surgery. I have already gotten rid of the biggest clothes in my closet. I was similar to you, very slim in high school (114 pounds). I started gaining weight in my 30's. Similar struggle - lose 20, gain 25... -
What Was Your First Month's Weight Loss?
thinmymind replied to lunabella007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll let you know when the first month is over, but it is 17 pounds 18 days later. I was a low BMI to start, I am very happy with it. -
This is the first I have heard of a five day pouch test. What is it? I am 2 1/2 weeks post op, so I don't need it now, but like the sound of it for the future.

I had a rolling carry on. I had no problem walking with it and whenever it needed to be lifted, I asked for help.

I have never had a C-section, but I only had pain the first night. I didn't need pain meds after that. Maybe driving on bumpy roads, I held my tummy for a couple of days, but that was the extent of the discomfort.

Seeking Reliable, Cost Effective Surgeon
thinmymind replied to leprechaunmomma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I loved Dr. Kelly and would do it all over again with him even if his price was doubled. -
They were $3/drink at my drs, so $250 sounds high. Even at $3, though, you can get cheaper. A lot of people seem to like premier. Just find one with similar stats. Should not be hard, because the Optifast are a little higher in carbs than a lot of them. I make a shake with Unjury unflavored protein powder and skim chocolate milk and the calorie count is almost the same as Optifast.

thinmymind replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh, I always through them out, bummer. I probably read it though. That was before I was tuned into all of the Dr.'s. -
Laptop, Ipad, Iphone?
thinmymind replied to made2beme's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Follow all of the excellent advice above regarding the iphone. I would definitely take the iPad. It will use the wifi, same as your computer would. You will each want something, your husband especially. So, maybe one laptop and the iPad. -

thinmymind replied to SunnyCox's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
As long as your job isn't too physical, you shod be fine. I am doing fine, I have had no pain other than some lingering pesky gas pains. My energy was low the the first week, but now at two weeks out is back to normal. -
I got one today too. I put it on even though it won't reflect a whole day.

Question Question!
thinmymind replied to jessica0728's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can change your calorie goals. On the cell phone app, go to "More", Edit Profile, Net Calorie Goal and put in whatever you want for your calorie goal. -
Honesty Vs. Lying About The Surgery
thinmymind replied to Lovely's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone I know is used to my crazy dieting. Last year, I did 12 weeks of a liquid diet, so me doing liquids now post op is not raising eyebrows. The only thing that will raise eyebrows is that it is finally working. -
What To Pack For Hospital ( Mexico).
thinmymind replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I brought tea bags, peppermint. The hotel room has a mini coffee maker and it was nice to be able to make a cup of tea. The hotel does have chamomile, though. Ask for a poolside room! -
What To Pack For Hospital ( Mexico).
thinmymind replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yeah, don't forget the passport! I wore only one pair of shoes the entire time, didn't even pack another. (Fitflops). Also, maybe if you have a favorite nail polish for your toenails, in case they take off your polish in the hospital. They did not take off mine, but they did take it off the other two patients that day. -
When Did You Start Exercising?
thinmymind replied to jessica0728's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I walked as soon as I was home as well. Either outside or on the treadmill. Just about 15 minutes at a time, a couple of times a day. -
