For All Low Bmi's -- How Much Weight Did You Loose In 90 Days?
thinmymind replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a low BMI. I have lost 19.5 pounds since surgery 26 days ago. I was a super tight 12 (probably would have been a tight 14 if I would have bought any). Some 12's fit, some are big and I wore a size 10 pants tonight. The best thing is that my face lost most of the weight already, so when I look in the mirror, I see the person I expect rather than the round faced one that has been staring back for the last few years. -
I hope this comes across in the way it is intended. I am not gifted when it comes to writing. And no one could think more highly of Omar than I do (well, probably a lot of you probably feel the same). But Omar is the Dr.'s assistant, he does not directly provide medical care. I bet with all of the running around he did, he still checked on the patients still in the hospital. But, really, what is he going to do for you in the hospital? Yes, he can contact the Dr. if need be, but you are in the hospital, there is always a Dr. there. We had a lovely young woman Dr. there while I was there and she and I had lovely lengthy conversations. He is also just a phone call away. While we were there, we did want to run around and see things, but patient needs were always first. He would say, I have to stop by the hospital for someone for example or take someone for their leak test, then he would tell us when he was available to take us sightseeing.

Is The Liquid Diet Easier Postop?

It is way easier because you are not hungry. Well, speaking for myself anyway. -
Have Doubts? Dont Dr Kelly Is Amazing
thinmymind replied to heatherinoregon's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was sleeved by Dr. Kelly last month. I flew into San Diego the day before my surgery. Dr. Kelly's wife, Cece picked me up at the airport and took me to the hospital. I stayed in the hospital the night before and the two nights after surgery. Then I spent two nights in the hotel. I actually had a great time! We saw Dr. Kelly usually twice a day, so he is always available to talk to. He took us out to dinner on Saturday night with his family (broth for us!) I can't recommend him highly enough. -
Facilatators? (Forgive Spelling)
thinmymind replied to grammyto2's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I obviously recommend my Dr! I loved Dr. Kelly. He does not use any coordinators, he has a personal assistant named Omar who is also incredible. He operates out of a hospital, small but a hospital nonetheless. Then 2 days at a nice hotel. I actually had a great time! (With cissiesue too!) He charges $5500 excluding airfare. So, if you wanted another Dr. to speak to, here is his contact info: Dr. Jaime Ricardo Ramos Kelly 619-395-5347 (Omar cell) info@wlsclinic.com wls-clinic@hotmail.com -
Left Upper Abdominal pain
thinmymind replied to sam30204's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Its Official...the Dog Eats Better Than I Do...
thinmymind replied to Patrick Curl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just noticed you had your surgery! Congrats! I second the recommendation for the Ricotta Bake thing on Eggface's blog. Really had that pizza feel to it. The key is the italian seasoning, I think, make sure you don't skip that. Here is the link to her suggested pureed foods for when you get to that stage: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html -
Ate Too Much!
thinmymind replied to Gastricsleeve4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I probably would have done the same with guacamole, I love it so much. -
A big vote for Dr. Kelly! I just felt immediately comfortable with him when we initially spoke on the phone.
-
I must try this recipe and the centering of the egg yolks bit - great tip!

What Is Going To Be Your "last Meal?"
thinmymind replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had beer, pizza and chicken wings. -
I get pain only on my left side under my rib cage. I have googled everything, but I really feel like it has to be gas. I only get it after I eat or drink anything.

Made Myself A List For Stuff To Have At Home After Surgery....
thinmymind replied to Jlewis229's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Peppermint tea, Unjury Chicken soup, Gatorade or G2 -
I echo what everyone else is saying. They are, as Finding Myself said, working on a new website. Text Omar directly, that is the quickest way to contact Omar/Dr. Kelly. Response time is normally very quick. Another email they use is: wls-clinic@hotmail.com. Good luck and stick with Dr. Kelly - you won't be sorry!
-
I just bought that pan and will be making these when I am a little further out!
-
I love the Unjury unflavored, it is the only one I really like. I make it with chocolate milk and a little decaf instant coffee.

Dr. Jaime Ricardo Ramos Kelly 619-395-5347 info@wlsclinic.com Call that number and you will get Omar, or send a text or email. He will get back to you. Have some questions prepared, he will have the Dr. call you back. I paid with a cashier's check in the amount of $5500. Good luck! -
Quick Questions: Mexico/vacation/pre-Diabetic
thinmymind replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I loved loved loved Dr. Kelly and his assistant Omar. So much so, that I am planning a trip to visit him in October with the other two women I had surgery with on June 14th. I chose Dr. Kelly for many reasons, but mostly because after speaking with him, I just felt so comfortable. Some of the Drs. do not speak English and that did not make me comfortable - some people don't mind and that says nothing about them as surgeons, but personally, I felt better being able to communicate directly with the Dr. I am 21 days out today, so I can't answer 30 day questions yet. I have lost approximately 20 pounds since my surgery which I am beyond happy with. I say approximately because I am out of town and away from my regular scale - I am using one here and although the numbers are different, I am still seeing losses every day. I would say a week and a half to two weeks and you would be back to normal pretty much. It depends on what your normal activity is like. -

How Do Skinny People Sleep?
thinmymind replied to Nadz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Memory Foam mattress topper. I got one at Target pretty reasonably priced. -
I am 5'4" and am shooting for 130. Although, I got to 140 a couple of years ago and was pretty happy with myself for the 5 minutes that I was at that weight.

Quick Questions: Mexico/vacation/pre-Diabetic
thinmymind replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went alone and was fine. My husband is awesome and very supportive of me doing the surgery, but he would have had ants in his pants. Also, in the end, I would be worried about him - is he eating... -
The plane ride home was no problem. I had a 4.5 - 5 hour trip and it was not a problem. I was really worried about gas, but that wasn't an issue. I got up and walked a couple of times, I had booked myself an aisle seat for that reason. I didn't want to worry about clotting. I bought a gatorade after the security check in to have to sip all of the way home. Have someone else lift your bag whenever you need it done. I didn't check my bag and there was always someone willing to help out.
