Hello Everyone! I have a question to ask. For the past few days my port has been very sore. Also when I drink something, the noise of the liquid going down is very loud on a left hand side where my port is located. Can it be a sign that my port is disconnected? Any help is appreciated.
-
Wow that is different. Well you doing pretty good without a port. Keep it up!!!
-
Hi! Can I ask what was the symptoms that you needed a new port?
-
Thank you Penni. It helps. I thought I am going crazy with that noise. It never happened so loud before and I have been banded almost a year now.

I totally understand you! I am at 4 CC, 4 months post up and lost about 33 pounds. I can still eat a bit. Planning to go for another fill next week, but afraid to be sick since I do have a bit of restriction. In the morning-can not eat much Afternoon cup of broth and 1/2 of chicken salad At night about 7-8 boiled shrimps, or chicken breast. I also able to eat bread at times. I am worried that something is wrong with me cause I am at 4 CC and that is the max for an Inamed Band. -
You are absolutly right! I guess sometimes we get caught up in our own little world where we want results and want them over night.
-
I am also a bit frustrated and totally can relate to your posting. I have been banded 2 month ago and only lost 17 pounds. I got my first fill last Wed of 2.5CC and have not lost anything yet. I can feel a little bit of restriction but still think I eat bigger portion than I should I scheduled another fill for Wed 28 to put a bit more in. I agree with you that you get a bit dissapointed to see other people loosing wait much faster than others.

Hello everyone! It is me Zhanna! I have been banded 1 month tomorrow. I am kinda dissapointed with my results since I lost about 12 pounds. I can eat anything nowwith tiny restriction. Of course my portions are 1/2 smaller than I used to eat but I am afraid I am not loosing enough at this time. I am going for my first fill on Jan 7th. Please let me know if it is normal. Also what is good restriction in terms of portions. If you are able to eat CHicken breast and some veggies for dinner or lunch is it alot? Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your repplies. I will try not to freak out and wait for my first fill. Zhanna

Hi! I had my surgery 10 days ago. I have the same feeling of not being full as well. Is it normal? last week I had that small pain in my chest when I ate or drink too much, this week I am not feeling as much restriction and I am eating bigger portions. I lost 10 pounds as well and have not lost any weight since moving to a blanded/mushi foods this week. I can eat a lot of things now. I tried cheese, bolony, pita chips, ground turkey. Of course I am not eating near much I ate before but I am afraid that I need the band titened already even though it is my 2nd week. Please help me understand if it is normal not feeling restriction 2 weeks post up? Thanks, Zhanna

Hello everyone my name is Zhanna and I just had my surgery on November 17 with dr Shayani, IL. The surgery went fine, Dr S is great and very good in what he does. I am enjoying my liquids now for 3 days:) and they are going down fine. I still have some soreness in my port area and gas in my chest but overall it is not bad. I move around take walks for about 20 minutes outside. Can not wait to move to a next step my mushi/blanderized food to see what happens
-
Ashanti, I started mushi as well already. I tried Mash potatoes, creamy Soups, yogurt, and cottage chese. It went down fine. I do feel restriction between 4-6 oz though. What about you? I get this pinch or a bit of a pain in my chest and I stop!

Hello everyone! I was just wondering can bandsters eat sushi? It would be nice to hear from you all if you can and or can not and how much would you be able to eat. I am scheduled for my surgery on 11/17 and just wondering cause I love it! Thanks, Zhanna

Hi Daria, I am also having a band surgery on Monday 17 with DR Shayani in IL. Also scared and excited. I am having what if what if what if thoughts. I never had any surgeries and don't know what to expect. I am 29 years old and want to have a healthy life ahead of me. Good luck with you surgery and wish me the same. We will be having our bandiversary in a year with hopefully 100 pounds less and healthier:) Zhanna

Wendy, Thank you! Congrats on your lost! It seems almost 10 pounds a month which is great! As I understand it is very individual at first 30-40 days how much people loose. Wendy may I ask you a question. Why are you waiting for 12 weeks? I thought the average to get a fill is around 6 weeks postup?
-
Thank you Wendy! It is nice to hear. How many pieces are you able to eat? Have you had any fills yet? How is the banding life going for you? Are you happy? Zhanna
-
That is a good news. Maybe I will be able to eat sushi afterwords. Because I have few days left before my banding life begins, I go through a lot of if this, if that. I have to admit it is scary. Are you happy you have done this surgery and would you do it again? How was your recovery? Sorry to ask you all these same questions I am sure everyone asks. Firegirl
