Thanks for the info - However, we don't have any FillCenters around this area. (closest is about 300 miles) Guess I'll have to wait on the fluoro machine repairs. The shame is, my Mexico MD will do them for free if I go to him, but with airline ticket costs - Whew!!

I live in Monroe, LA area, and we have a shortage of fill options. A local doc only fills his own patients. Another does them "sometimes". (A quack, IMO!) A local clinic started doing them for $200.00 with fluoroscopy, but their fluoroscopy machine stays broke down. Does anyone know of any in this area?? Desperate in NE LA!

Hey, last post I was 9 day pre-op. Now I'm 9 days post-op. I feel great, haven't been hungry, and have lost 16 lbs!! And I am in love with Boost!! Removed my stitches at 7 days and found out ALL my discomfort was the stitches. No pain from surgery at all. All in all I had a good experience, and now I am excited about the future. I wore a shirt to church last night that I haven't been able to wear in nearly a year. My energy level is already greater than before. I can't wait to see how good I feel at 50-60 lbs instead of 16 lbs!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

I'm excited, but still can make use of all the encouragement I've received. we have been reading all the info about the diet after surgery, and my wife is wondering "What can I feed you?". All the don'ts!! Any suggestions from anyone about liquids and stuff for before you go to solid food?

They gave me a list of things I should take - Liquid Tylenol, Gas-X, etc. I'm gonna follow their advice. These people have taken 12-15 people per month down there, for the last 2 years. They call the pre-op diet the "liver shrink" diet. I think last night is going to be my "Last Supper". Actually, Mexican food is my favorite. I could eat Mex food everyday - our whole family loves it. That's going to be the thing I crave the most. the schedule is to fly into San Diego about 9:30 am Friday , drive into Mexico and be at the hospital by 11:00am - surgery that afternoon if all tests are okay - spend one night in hospital, and one night in adjoining Grand Hotel - fly home Sunday afternoon.

I'm going to Mexico. There are several around here that have gone to this doctor over the last 2 years, and they have all been very pleased. My coordinator told me to go "no salt" as far as possible and to drink lots and lots of water for the next 9 days. They had a few other guidlelines, but really stressed those two points. Do you have any good suggestions?
