Thinking About Getting The Sleeve Done. Help!
AdeptDreamer replied to LaDwana's topic in Insurance & Financing
In the Dallas/Forth Worth Area http://www.drdkim.net/html/bariatric-weight-loss-surgery-payment-options-dallas-tx.html That's his website I might get sleeved by him but I really want something closer to home. -
Besides the fact that people are idiots (myself included) did the article have a "My-4-year-old-cousin-who-eats-glue-can-write-a-better article" vibe? Or was it just me?

But you should shop around more, because I found a great surgeon in TX that was $12,500! and I heard the best surgeon in Mexico charges $11,000+ At the end of the day it's your money and your body Try not to make hasty decisions. Best of luck!!! -

Any updates LaDwana? -
No, my mother is against it, even if some doctors in Mexico are beyond qualified. But I only have to wait until October for my insurance to give me more info then November is my last month of the six months of a supervised diet

AdeptDreamer replied to LaDwana's topic in Insurance & Financing
I know we are young but I've done many diets and I know I need this tool. Plus I'm not living life. This is a serious decision that I'm not making lightly. I understand how drastic my life will be changed, I understand complications and I understand there is still so much I'm not going to be ready for but is anyone really ever ready? -

Thinking About Getting The Sleeve Done. Help!
AdeptDreamer replied to LaDwana's topic in Insurance & Financing
United HealthCare does cover the vertical sleeve but it has it where you have to have two comorbidities if your bmi is under 40 but if above 40 you do not. And my moms job has an age limitation of 21 but that just them. I'm 20 right now so they are playing hold out lol but the coordinator did say I could start my 6 months of supervised diet. I have a PDF about UHC/Bariatric Surgery policy if you want to read it. -

Wondering If Its Just Me...
AdeptDreamer replied to jacksmommy719's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm more worried about being approved and then being the 1% and experience a complication(s)... I use to worry about extra skin but now I understand how superficial that is or how there are worse things. But you know what, I still want this dang surgery. But I bet you will be beautiful! Good Luck -
You have to love your self. The sleeve is in your stomach not your mind. Even if you weighed 140 pounds, you would still find something bad about yourself. I'm working on it too...
