Look at the bright side of it..at least you have insurance and don't have to travel out of the country. many would love to be in your shoes. Count it all joy. Good luck on your journey. -
All depends on the insurance company because I've read on a forum where someone was denied for being noncompliant with the 6 month diet.

Has Anyone Changed Surgeons? Will This Affect Getting Approved?
valdostaGA posted a topic in Insurance & Financing
Has anyone changed surgeons? Did it prolong your getting approved. Nothing has been submitted to insurance so I figure now is the best time. I just don't feel comfortable with my choice:( -
Has Anyone Changed Surgeons ?

Thanks! My 6 month diet is done with my provider not my surgical office. It was required by insurance not to be done by the surgeon office. -
Has Anyone Changed Surgeons ?
valdostaGA replied to valdostaGA's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I'm just wondering would it be difficult getting my records from one surgeon to the other? As far as what's making me uncomfortable HONESTLY reading these forums and experiences and when I met him he was very very nice but something just didn't click, and that most of his testimonials are Lap Bands. -

6 Month Supervised Diet I Am Almost Done With... Did I Mess Up?
valdostaGA replied to fattymcfatterson's topic in Insurance & Financing
It is ridiculous! As far as the compliance...my coordinator told me they wanted to see that I at least made an attempt to follow a diet for 6 months. I seen on a forum some where that a lady didn't lose a lb and they denied her for being non compliant with the 6 month supervised diet. I hated doing the 6 months but it will help u in the end to get rid of old habits and adopt new ones. Give it a try u can do it:) -

Does your policy state 6 consecutive months or monthly with no less than 30 days apart? It all depends on what your policy states but your days look fine they're not gonna fall on 30 days exactly due to weekends and holidays. -
I've been losing every month until today..my 5th weigh in I gained 7lbs!! I have BCBS of Alabama and a bmi of 61..I pray that I can still get an approval:(

Has Anyone Been Sleeved In Jacksonville, Fl?
valdostaGA replied to FromBandToSleeve's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hello I'm having my sleeve done in Jacksonville at memorial with Dr.Pinnar and Dr.Cywes. -
My deductible was 750 and its been met. I had a cat scan and an ultra sound and that's what really boosted my out of pocket.
-
I'll take the 2500 my out of pocket max is 5000 just for me but with all the appointments and other visits so far I'm at 2000.

Are their requirements different? From what I understand from what ur saying is you have the same policy just different provider?
-
The way I was told is take your 750 deductible and add it to your out of pocket max 6350 is the max u will pay. But your plan will only pay 10,000 so u need to talk to your surgery coordinator and get some figures because I've seen some big bills that were much more than that.

Dr.Thomas Umbach he done several of my chat friends sleeve for $10,000 but I'm not sure about revision. Google him he has youtube videos, and his office # is also on there.
-
There's a Dr in Vegas that charges $10,000 I'll find out his name. I seen several of his patients on another forum. Inbox me if u want the info.

Thanks! I just went and read their policy and it changed from 5yrs to 3.
