    Pre-Op Testing Finished!

I didn't do the barium swallow pre-op only immediately post op. I also didn't have the test for mrsa. They just did blood tests on me and had me pee in the cup. They said unless I had a Cardiac history they wouldn't do the EKG.

    Blood Clots?

I did develop clots in my leg about a week after surgery. But it has nothing to do with the actual lap band itself. It was from surgery in general. I'm sure it didn't help that I was on birth control as well which also increases risk. I am currently on blood thinners but I did have to do the lovenox shots for 2 weeks after I got the clots and I thought those shots hurt.
  3. I have only had my band with plication for a little over a month. I went in for my first fill and doctor only gave me .5cc and thats all that's in my band and i am able to only eat the 3 small meals and be satisfied so I think the plication has helped me a lot as far as hunger otherwise im sure just .5cc wouldn't do anything for my hunger
  4. All my doctor required was for me to see the dietician. He said he doesn't make his see a psychiatrist unless he feels they need to. I didn't has to see any other specialists. I just had to have my records for the last 3 yrs faxed over from my primary care doctor.
  5. I'm going for my first fill in a couple hours and I'm nervous...does it hurt? Whats it feel like??

    Fill Fill Soon..does It Hurt?

So I just got back from my surgeon and getting the fill and it was nothing he didn't numb me but I still didn't feel it except the strange kinda "crunch" feeling lol I guess that's how to describe it

    Leg Pain

I didn't have tingling in my leg but I did get groin pain and then my leg started swelling and turning red. I ended up with a couple blood clots. Just watch it carefully hopefully it's nothing. Not trying to scare you because yours could be something completely different.

    Have You Ever Experienced This?!!

I doubt it is Kinsey stones because I get those at least once a year and I've never hurt where you are. Typically kidney stone pain is in the lower back on the side and/or in the groin area.

Why Cant I Lay On My Side?

I wasn't able to sleep on my side for 2 weeks without pain. Then when I was able to I put a pillow under my stomach and layed on my side. My port is on my left side.
  10. Yes walk walk walk like others have said. I didn't follow this and ended up getting blood clots. I was in pain so I didn't feel like walking then I regretted it. I used a hearing pad for my shoulder pain and it did wonders :-)

    Strange Question...

It took me a couple weeks to sleep on my stomach again. I am a stomach/side sleeper too

    1 Day Post Op

That Is awesome! I was one of the unfortunate ones I guess who had a lot of pain the first few days. It's now mostly gone just some port pain. Best of luck on your journey!
  13. I really like muscle milk but I've also heard some people say they don't like it so I guess it's just each persons preference. I have not tried boost but I did use the ensure clear right after surgery for the first couple days because I was so nauseous and it helped me get my nutrients.

    Port Location???

They put my port directly under my incision and it makes me worried for when I get my fill because seems like it would be more painful putting the needle directly into the incision even though it will be mostly healed by then
  15. I didn't have any restrictions when on full liquids either so I don't think that means you made it slip. If you are concerned I would just call your surgeon.

    Port Location???

Mine is to the left of my belly button and up some. It's just above my waistline. I was banded 5/24/12 and it is still sore if I bend or reach to my left. I sure hope it gets better. I woul hate for it to be like this forever.
  17. I did throw up the day after I was banded because I was so nauseous. It did hurt me but I was also fresh out of surgery. It was harder to throw up.

    Kinda Sick To My Stomach/concerned

I unfortunately did throw up once the day after I got banded. Luckily it did not hurt my band but I was told if a person throws up enough it can mess up the band. Definitely stay on your nausea meds. I spent my second day very nauseous but then the next day I felt much better.

    Simply Have To Say....

Yes cherry flavor is not near as bad as the other for sure! I had some after surgery
  20. I'm not on pain meds other than dissolvable kids Tylenol now. Only took lortab first few days
  21. I was banded on may 24th and today and yesterday I have been nauseous off and on. I'm still on just full liquid diet. I'm going to call my surgeons office in the morning but any suggestions about what could cause this? Ive read that a symptom of the band slipping is nausea but I havent eaten anything to make it slip. I'm so worried now. I wasn't nauseous until yesterday and it's not constant.
  22. I honestly haven't been counting my oz of fluid guess I should start. I figured with being on a liquid diet that one couldnt get dehydrated. It is possible I guess. I will try drinking some flavored water. Luckily I haven't vomited
  23. I did not stay a night in the hospital because I was self pay and would have been extra expense. If your insurance covers it then I would stay the night. They have better pain meds and you can rest more without kids around.
