I had them during surgery and I even got the shot of heparin before surgery to help prevent clots plus they had those things on my legs that massage and help circulation durin surgery and somehow I still got a clot a week after my surgery

It was maybe a month or so before I was able to completely lay on my port and even then it was sore.

Im not trying to scare you but blood clots are a possibility with any surgery. So the stockings although not required wouldn't be a bad idea. I was an unlucky one who got a blood clot in my leg the week after my lap band surgery. I ended up having to get shots in my stomach twice a day at home for 2 weeks straight. Luckily my husband is in the medical field and was able to give them to me.

I think I had something similar to that for a couple months after surgery. It finally went away. My doctor told me to take over the counter pain meds for it and said its probably scar tissue forming.

I had lap band with plication 3 months ago and I have had just 1 fill of .5cc and that's it and I feel Great. I have been losing weight very consistently and have lost about 36 pounds since surgery.

I have lap band with plication and basically my understanding is the stomach is folded in half in a plication.

My pain was worst when sitting up or laying down or getting up or down from chair. Otherwise it wasn't too bad. I did have some shoulder pain from the gas they use to inflate so they can see. I am very sensitive to medicines and most narcotics make me extremely nauseous so I spent the first few days like that. By day 4 my nausea was gone and I was up being more normal. I recommend getting up and moving around as much as you can tolerate because since I didn't I got a blood clot in my leg.

I had lap band with plication about 3 months ago and I have lost 37 pounds since then. I am so glad I got the plication I have only had one fill and it was at my 6 week appt. I only have .5 cc in my band and I don't feel like I need another fill yet. I'm losing at a great pace and my meals keep me satisfied. :-) i love my lap band with plication

I was banded about 3 months ago and last week I was diagnosed with gallstones after having horrible pain. I go to see the surgeon Monday and will hopefully get the date of when he is going to take it out. I never had any problems with my gallbladder til now. I've heard rapid weight loss can be a culprit.

I didn't have steri strips I had band aids but I was allowed to shower after surgery and they didn't give me any restrictions on it. I was so glad cause the day after surgery I really wanted to take one and it made me feel a little better.

I have taken Imodium and did fine.

At my first consult the surgeon just weighed me and asked me questions and went over health history then explained the surgery in detail. My surgeon only does lap band. Only other appts I had to make before my surgery was nutritionist and then my preop appt for blooed tests. I didnt have to see a cardiologist or anything or even a psychologist.

My experience wasn't bad at all. Some places will numb you before they do the fill but mine didn't and honestly I didn't need to be numbed. I barely felt the needle go in at all. He did dig around for a minute til he found the port though and while that wasn't painful it did feel strange. I only got .5cc put in my band my first fill. after the fill I had to drink a cup of water to make sure I went down ok before they would let me leave the office. I also had to go on a liquid diet for 48 hours after my fill.

I am 3 months post op and I have lost 35 pounds since surgery. I did not taking anything to the hospital because mine was outpatient but I did take a small pillow for in the car to put between me and the seatbelt. I would say taking comfy clothes and probably some pants that have a stretchy band.

I am still having some trouble as well. I have been having mostly liquids this week with occasionally something solid. Sometimes it makes my stomach hurt. My lap band surgeon is on vacation this week on his honeymoon. I have an appt for a week from tomorrow to see him. I'm going to have him check my band on flouroscope at that appt to put my mind at ease. I only have .5cc in it so I wouldn't think I have much chance of it slipping. I'm thinking mine must be from my gallbladder still?

How was the gallbladder recovery? Was there much pain afterwards? I have to get mine out soon and I'm just wondering.

I had lap band with plication about 3 months ago and I think it has made a huge difference for me because I never went through "bandster hell". I still only have .5cc in my band and I'm losing 10 to 12 pounds a month and don't really feel like I need a fill at the moment. I am so glad I got it.

Yeah maybe a gallbladder attack. I'm currently dealing with that. I had a gallbladder attack on Monday and it has made my stomach swell. I only have .5cc in my band and at some times this week it was hard for even liquid to go through. I am getting my gallbladder out in about a week.

I didn't get an ID card when I got my allergan band. Then again i only got my surgery 3 months ago. I also have been wondering whether to get a medical ID bracelet. I'm thinking it might be a good idea.

I did not have to wait to bathe at all. I think it depends on the surgeon and what kind of stitches they use maybe?

My surgeon has said nothin about not taking ibuprofen. Actually he told me to take it for some pain I was having.
