I can't keep anything down all of a sudden!
Dixie Rose posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My lap band was last year, February 29. It was been pretty much normal according to these boards and from past experiences of people I know. I've lost 55 pounds. 3 days ago I started not being able to keep food down and had trouble keeping drinks down, especially when I was taking my meds. Right now I can't keep any solid food down and very little liquid; especially with my pills. This has never happened before and if stress is a factor I'm about to have to have 4 ruptured discs in my neck fixed; so if stress contributes I definately have it. Also I take care of my 84 year old father and getting my sisters and brother to help with him while I'm down is a no for sure! I worry about the surgery and about the care of my father. I haven't mistreated my band so all of this throwing up all of a sudden has been a total surprise. What do I need to do? Is there anything to do? Could my band have slipped? I haven't mistreated it at all. Let me know anything to help. This is worrying me to death which is probably contributing to the situation. Thanks so much, Deb -
I had surgery a year ago, a fill 10 weeks ago. All of a sudden it's hard to take my pills. Could this be band slippage? How do you tell if your band has slipped? I haven't thrown up but very little. Also, I've gained a little weight. Please let me know what you think.

Surgery a year ago; can my band get tighter on it's own?
Dixie Rose posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had lap band surgery right about a year ago. I had my last fill 10 weeks ago. Now, all of a sudden I have a really hard time swallowing my pills; a hard time swallowing anything hardly. Can your band actually tighten on it's own? What could have happened? -
How does it feel when your band slips exactly? I've been feeling like my rips are pushing up when I try to sit up. A different feel than I've had - ever. Thanks, Debbie - oh, and I had hernia repair when I had my lap band.

What Is The Problem Taking Byetta Shots After Lap-Band?
Dixie Rose posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've heard that byetta shots cause the band to erode - is that true? I've also heard that byetta causes you to become nauseated after you have the lap-band. If anyone knows - please let me know; everybody and every doc seems to think something different. -
Is it possible to first feel any restriction 4 weeks after the fill? I've had 2 fills and haven't felt a thing until after 4 weeks since the last one. I haven't had to throw up a time and haven't felt any type of restriction until the last day or two. Could it take 4 weeks? Thanks!!!!

Has Anyone Lost Inches And Not Weight
Dixie Rose posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded February 29. I have diabetes, fibromyalgia, high bp, high cholesterol, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, low thyroid and of course I take meds for all of these. Since the surgery I've been free of my acid reflux meds and my sleeping pills. I had the surgery for the most part to get rid of or improve the diabetes. That hasn't improved and I actually had a short time of barely controlling it. I'm 55 years old. I've only lost 20 pounds that stayed off. I'm eating my protein. I am exercising also. I just wish I could lose more weight. I also take 2 meds that are antidepressants, they're for the pain of the fibro and it does help. I feel better than I've felt in years. What can I do to lose weight? Has anybody had this problem? I've had 2 fills and can't tell I've had any. Comments please?
