Getting close to the big day!!! I'm wondering if anyone has tried the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth or the cheese sauce??? I don't like the taste of most shakes because of the sweetness or chemical taste. Wondering how these stack up! Thanks-

Well, I am having surgery in 1 week, and I think I may be going in with a monthly visitor..... So not cool. What do they do? I am hoping it will come this weekend. EEEW.

I had surgery on 2/14. I drink 1 cup in the morning (black). My NUT said it was okay if I got my water in... I started around week 3-4.

I had surgery on 2/14, and I am at 35. I have also had a total of 9 surgeries on my legs (6 knee). I have just been walking and recently started the elliptical. It's remarkable how much better my legs feel. I had a slow week around wk 3. Now it's picking up. It just takes time. Best of luck!

Fabulous February Post-Op's
sleevemeup replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Helllllo! I had my 3 week post op yesterday... (I had to change my appt last week, so had to push it to 3 instead of 2). All went well, right where they want me to be, except they want me to increase my calories. Right now it's a struggle to get in 500, and they want me at least 800 by next appointment. I can have cooked vegies, soft fish, turkey and soft cheese. One thing I didn't know, was that I am supposed to take the prilosec for 3 months post op to assist avoiding an ulcer. I thought it was just if I was uncomfortable. So, I started taking it again. I am also drinking a bit of coffee each morning (black). Since I am able to get all of my Water in, my doc said that was okay. This is by far one of the best life decisions I have ever made. I feel blessed that I have not had any complications or issues other than having sleep problems, which are getting better. I am so hopeful for the future and look forward to it! -
I live on this.... Oikos or Chibani. Plain, fat free. I mix it with soup to make it creamy and boost the protein.

2 weeks post op question
sleevemeup replied to daluvoflife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 3 weeks out and I had a bit of discomfort and found it went away if I had something to drink. -
Finally! I am on the other side. All went well, nothing earth shattering to report. Thank you for all of the great support here! On my way to a smaller me. So worth it. I know feel that I am in control instead of the food. I know I have done the right thing!

So... Just wondering what some of you have paid or are about to pay out of pocket. Any ideas of the negotiated rate with your insurance company? I have 50% coverage for everything, so from what I have seen I could be out of pocket a lot of $$. I usually have a good negotiated rate from the other surgeries, so I am a little hopeful! But, how much is your health really worth? That is what I keep telling myself!

2 years post op...problems with my teeth?!?
sleevemeup replied to angie.rn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I am pre-surgery, but I had perfect teeth until I got pregnant. After that, periodontists, root canals and crowns. But, I do think if you don't take enough calcium it can make it worse. -
Fabulous February Post-Op's
sleevemeup replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry to hear that. I didn't realize that pooping is so important. My doc brought it up, but wasn't concerned about it. I also don't have to do the super "cleanse" pre-surgery. It's strange how it differs so much. I hope you see some action soon. Maybe prune juice??? -
Playing the waiting game...

Okay, you guys are freaking me out (and making me laugh). I go in tomorrow morning. My doc said I didn't need to poop before I left. Thank God. I'm a home pooper. I'm glad you are all doing well, and will join in hopefully later tomorrow. Not looking forward to the catheter.... -
I need some SERIOUS advice! Please!
sleevemeup posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As luck would have it, I am scheduled for this Thursday. Last Friday, my son tore up his knee and most likely will be having surgery next week. He is a pro with crutches, so I will not need to totally care for him, just bring food and liquids. I usually rebound really quick from surgeries, but this one is certainly different (I think). My husband can always stay home, and I do have family and friends close by to call. Any suggestions? I really don't want to re-schedule for a 4th time... -

Thank you! I really don't want to change my date again. I could always have my husband stay home for a few days! -

I wouldn't be able to lift him anyway. He's 6'1". I figure I can carry a gatorade and a bowl of food to him! I just hope it goes like all of my other surgeries! -
Good Luck All, I am coming in right after you! Please keep us informed. I don't have to drano.

I am pre-op, so my tastes may be different. There are several shake mixes at Whole Foods that have the higher protein in them. I know they don't have some of the artificial sweetners, you may try there.
-
I don't have the problem, but- the bariatric vitamin I take has iron in it. It's called Bariatric Fusion. Chewable, tolerable taste pre-op. I like it because I am taking 1 pill 4 x per day. I used to take millions of vitamins.

Caffeinated coffee post-op
sleevemeup replied to erikaloftin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked the same thing... I am a coffee achiever. I like mine plain and black. My NUT said it was okay 2 weeks post-op if I am getting all of my water in. If not, I have to have decaf. -
Officially post-op!
sleevemeup replied to SoccerMomma73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah!!! See you there in 36 hrs! -
I have had my surgery re-scheduled 3 times... I had my EGD in September. There was something in my esophagus that they couldn't identify (re-schedule #1). All was fine saw a dermatologist and it was some skin thing. The other 2 times were insurance issues and work conflict. All ready to go on Thursday! The pre-op diet is getting to me. Mostly from an energy standpoint.
