So excited! Surgery is a week away
sleevemeup replied to Karlgan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! I am on day 4 of my pre-op diet, and I could eat my arm. The first 3 were fine, but today.... I am starving. Does it get easier? -
My doc isn't having me do the cleanse. Just for my own info, what are the reasons for this cleanse. I don't want to poop on the table or anything...

Welcome! I'm also on the 14th and ready to chew my arm off today! The first 3 days were fine. Today, I am starving!!! I'm from Utah.

Best tasting & complete chewable?
sleevemeup replied to Pam Peltz's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I have Bariatric Fusion. Tropical flavor. You take 4xday, and they taste pretty darn good. I paid $25 for a 1 month supply. My doc suggested these because they also have Iron in them. I didn't like the orange flavor. -
It's strange how pre-op diets differ so much. I am "very low calorie" for 2 weeks. 2 shakes, 2 ff greek yogurts and 1 small meal per day up until the day of surgery. Maybe they tailor the diet to how much you weigh, or if you have diabetes, or? I just find it interesting.

I would rather be in pain than have nausea. Great question- I can't stand throwing up either. I will remember to say something the day of surgery!

How Long Was Your Hospital Stay?
sleevemeup replied to sleevemeup's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seriously? I want to leave early, but that doesn't seem right. My doctor said I could go as long as my heart rate stayed normal and they knew I was peeing and uncomfortable (not in extreme pain), I could go. -
I am also on a similar pre-op diet for a 14th date of surgery. What kind of shakes are you drinking? I have found great success with the Premier shakes from Costco. They have 30 grams of protein and are very low in carbs. What about excercise? Water? Fiber? Sometimes, when I have lowered my fiber -ex. in a high protein diet I can't "go" to save my life, and need a bit of help if you know what I mean... One thing that is different with my diet, is that I get 2 servings of fat free greek yogurt in between my shakes. I am loosing about 1/2 lb per day. Hope this helps!

sleevemeup posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On the last leg of the beginning of my new life! I start my pre-op tomorrow. 2 Shakes, 1 snack (high protein), and 1 very small high protein meal with small serving of cooked vege. I almost want to go liquid all the way to maximize my weightloss. I am so ready!!! -
I am so glad to hear that! I went through the same thing! I had my pre-op this morning and am going in on 2/14. So excited!

Women and Hormones...
sleevemeup replied to sleevemeup's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my pre-op today and quizzed both my Dr and his asst about the smell, acne, etc. He said he hadn't had that complaint, only hormone changes with diabetic patients, of which I don't have any sign of. I'm just going to follow everything to a "t" and hope for the best! -
How Long Was Your Hospital Stay?
sleevemeup replied to sleevemeup's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just had my pre-op, and I will have to stay only 2 nights as long as there are no complications. He didn't anticipate any, but I guess you never know! -

Finally.... A Date!
sleevemeup replied to BustedBeauty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will go super fast! This is the 3rd time my date has changed since October, due to insurance issue, and then a herniated disc in my back. I am now on the 2 week count down and nothing is stopping me! -
I guess Capt'n Crunch is totally out of the question...lol

February 20th RNY surgery date!
sleevemeup replied to Pam Peltz's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My problem is cooking dinner for everyone. I think they will have to fend for themselves for awhile, as I have decided to go on a walk at that time! -
Good Luck! If you are anything like me, you won't be sleeping much tonight. On the 14th, I will join you on the loser's bench!

February 20th RNY surgery date!
sleevemeup replied to Pam Peltz's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
me too! Mine is very similar! Starting tomorrow! Good luck! -
I am pre-op, and I'm drinking it all the way up to surgery. I only drink a very large cup in the morning, but when I have quit before, I only had a headache for 1-2 days. I figure for surgery day, I won't know whats going on and the day after, probably not much better. I love plain black coffee. I hope someday I will be able to enjoy it again, most likely a smaller cup!

Good Luck! I am starting my pre-op diet tomorrow and go in on the 14th. Rock on February!
