My initial surgery went very smooth. I had no complications and very little gas. I followed all instructions from my Dr. and healed quickly. Once my Dr. started filling my band I had problems. After a fill I would get what I thought was stuck and began vomiting. I got an emergency unfill recovered and got refilled. I went through this up and down process for months until finally my Dr. did an xray and saw my band out of place. Apparently I had a hernia that WAS NOT repaired in my initial surgery which caused my band to completely close at will. I couldn't even swallow saliva during these episodes. Six months after my initial surgery I had a revision. Back under the knife I went. I was out of town shopping three days later. The second surgery went even smoothier than the first. Besides, I didnt have to wait for my port to heal this time around. He only repaired my hernia and adjusted my band.
Currently, I am finally losing weight. I feel like I'm just getting started on this band journey. It had been a year since this all began but my band has only been working right these last six months.
I still have a ways to go but my band is doing its job. The rest is up to me!!!
