I would suggest that you surround yourself with more supportive people. -
I have been thinking about the same thing. I can either recover in my apartment that's downtown and close to anything I may need or I can go an hour out to my parents house in the secluded mountains where I can get fresh air and momma love. This one is tough! I almost think staying home would be more comfortable...

I haven't even thought about this! I am 24. Oh noooooo I live in a college town!!! My mom had a similar WLS several years ago and she can party like a rockstar! Just take it easy and focus on your health for a while. How are you feeling other than your withdrawals? Lol...

Ah! I am new to this too(kinda)... My momma has had the DS. Watching her go through that process was amazing and inspirational! I decided to go with something a little less invasive and avoid that battle of lifelong malabsorption. I just scheduled my sleeve date today! September 25! I know it's a few months from now, but that just gives me lots of time to prepare and I don't think I would have a job to come home to if I picked a time sooner. Finding this website was great! So many inspirational people and I have learned a lot, and have plenty more to learn! Although it makes me feel kind of nosey cause I can just sit here and read what everyone has to say, haha. I look forward to finding and giving support that's much needed! Bless you! Love, Leah -
My mom had the duodenal switch ten years ago. She had it open, not lap. She has a pacemaker. Everything went fine for her! Her heart has improved tremendously since she had WLS! You should be fine, in my opinion. I have heard many good things of people with serious heart problems and previous heart operations having WLS. Whew, that was my first post!
