Try to do some asking around. I called the hospital that I was to have my procedure at and asked them a lot of questions about Dr. Lopez Corvala. Even called some of the other doctors and asked about my doc.I agree with the other person don't do it because it's the cheapest, check everything out first.

My 7500.00 included 2 days in the hospital and 2 days at a very nice hotel. Dr. Lopez teaches a lot of US Doctors and you get 1 year of free fills. But the down fall to that is if you don't live in or around san diego you still have to pay to get there.

I went to Dr.Lopez Corvala surgery went excellent I also was a self pay patient and it was 7500.00. But the only down fall is tryen to find a doctor in your immediate area that will do the fills behind one of the mexican doctors.I live in saint louis and I travel all the way to chicago to get my fills. That's the closest dr. that will do the fills behind a mexican dr.

I under stand exactly where you are coming from. I was banded on jan21,07 and since that I've only lost 21lbs. that was the first month. I can not eat no where near as much as I use to eat I exercise daily and still no difference. I paid out of pcket and I'm so very discusted that I haven't had more sucess than that! I had my first fill on march 9,07 and still nothing!!!!!!!!!! When I consult with my doctor he said I wasn't eating enough. Heck I thought that was the idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disappointed to the fullest. Especially when I speak to the young ladies that got banded the same day I was banded and they have lost 40-55lbs. Since our surgery.I don't want to think that I've paid all of that money to only lose 21 lbs. I feel like I'm just going to be FAT the rest of my LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:think

Hi everyone I'm RERE and I was banded 1/22/07 and I'm really getting discouraged because I have only lost 21 lbs. I went and got a fill on 2/09/07 1cc. And haven't lost anything!!!!! I walk 4-5 days a week and rececntly bought a bike and ride it 2-3 times a week. I can't eat much, and I mostly eat fish and shrimp and salmon. I'm going crazy!!!!!!! And I'm beginning to feel like my money that was paid for this operation was just in VEIN!!!!!!!! I didn't have insurance and I paid out of pocket and did not tell anyone what I did. Is this normall. I just thought by now I would have seen about 30lbs gone. I just feel hopeless like I waisted my money and I'm going to be FAT for the rest of my life.

Banded in TJ by Dr.Juan Lopez Corvala 1/22/07. As of 2/22/07 have lost 20lbs.But I sometimes get discouraged with not seeing weight come off immediately. And I have to tell myself I didn't gain it overnite so I'm not going to see imediate results.No one knows that I went and got banded but my mother and I just told her last week.I wanted to see some results first. I don't really have anyone to talk to about being banded,and the things your body goes thru, or even your thoughts. Does anyone have an excessive amount of GAS now?Does your chest ever hurt like it's about to come out sometimes?I can't seem to get use to not drinking some type of liquids with my meals. Sometimes it feels like your food is just laying in the middle of your throat so you have to wash it down with something. Well other than that having my surgery in mexico was very pleasurable and so much cheaper if you have to pay out of pocket.Excited to see what the months ahead of me hold....or should I say let go.:omg:
