I have an appointement for a third fill in April(I can't take leave from work until then)The first time I went for a fill,i was lying on the table under the machine and the doctor says "oh, I have bad news"the band was broken at the port.I needed to schedual another surgery to replace.Since it's garanteed for life the only cost was going down there.The doctor put in 1cc while I was under and I had another fill of 1 a few months later.I have a large band ..the restriction is minimal at best.Now I am so excited to get this third one to finally have some restriction!! Watch me gooooooo! Chantal:)

I was # 5 for my doctor.He was a surgeon so the actual procedure part did not concern me.I do have some problems with the after care just because I was not original very informed on fills(until I found this place!!) and when to get them.I waited over one year for first fill and he was not concerned that i was not losing.Keeps stressing nutrition and exercise(if that worked for me I would not need the band!I have had two fills in the past 5 months going for another in next few weeks.He is 2 hours away and e-mails me or I can e-mail him for any questions or appointements. I would say i am pleased because I have my band and once I do have restriction I will be on my way!!! Good luck, C

Hi! I have a hard time with meat as well but have found any kind of sauce help alot.I put salsa on my chicken,homemade low fat cheddar sauce on meatloaf,applesauce on pork ect! C

I've had two c-sections as well...no problem.

Of course after being healthy... cute summer dresses trying a waterslide(they look sooo fun) getting dressed up all cute to go dancing sleevless shirts high heels being carried by my husband easier time rolling over when sleeping actually like having my picture taken Geez, I'm such a girl!! :cheeky

I was up 2 hours after surgery and walked alot as well.At least every hour.I was not hungry for about 3 days until I got home and started cooking for my family..that was hard.I was on a bus for 6 hours for the ride home and it was uncomfortable but not too bad. Good luck and hang it there..it gets better! C

The losing 50 lbs in one day made me giggle and I can so relate!! Glad in went well and don't be shy to keep us updated:) C

You should go out and buy a new pair of shoes or nail polish to reward yourself!!You deserve it;) Chantal

Congratulations!! I am happy everything went well for you!! Yeah, the port site was the most painful for me too! When sleeping,I used pillows under my belly to help support it and avoid that pulling sensation! Take care and don't forget to rest Chantal

Are you really taking Prozac because when I was on antidepressants I had the most vivid disturbing nightmares and dreams.

Buy a HUGE diamond ring(fake will do)and tell them your husband will kick their butts!Hee-hee!

I feel this way as well!! I have never actually voiced this fear before now and wouldn't admit to anyone in my family (yet).I am scared of being thin for those same reasons and I think this is what hinders my progress and success.I am not ready to see anyone (professional)about this but there is this HUGE obstacle that I think no amount of dieting and Lap band can 'fix'. Being this big you become almost invisible and that for me is scary to let go of! Sorry if this doesn't help you much but just know you are not alone!!! ~C~

My doctor advised me to wait TWO HOURS after eating before I take a drink!

Hello, I have had my band for one year and have lost 30 lbs(last year)My doctor relunctantly filled me on Friday the 24Oct with ONE cc!! I have no choice but ti go to him since he is the only doctor around Ottawa.Actually he is in Montreal.I'm glad I found this site and will pressure him for more fills if this doesn't get things moving!!

No never heard of him..When i originally did my research Dr Leclerc was the only one in the immediate(5 hours away)area.He is actually the surgeon who did the Lap Band procedure.I only have access to the internet through work and cannot access Yahoo but thank you.:cool:
