    feeling fine

    You're funny!! It doesn't hurt at all!I've had two C-sections and this lap surgery and the pain is not the same. When they're doing the tattoo they have to stop about every three to five seconds to wipe so they can see where they are at,it gives you a break so it's not continuous. My mother's b-day is before my and my twin so the three of us went out for a girlie day last year.My Mom got a pretty hummingbird on her shoulder(her first)and my twin got a butterfly on her wrist(her first too)now they both want more as well:p I'm such a bad influence!!:guess Chantal

    Soft drinks

    Hello, I can drink a soda if i pour it out and let some of the fizz evaporate.There was a post on frozen marguerita's over the week end or this morining and the person said that it might have numbed her belly and that she didn't feel like she ate too much until later.I guess you wouldn't want all that ice sitting in your belly making you feel ill.that is if you are filled tight.Maybe if you drink it really slow? C

    feeling fine

    I have a big cartoon turtle on the whole top of my foot,he has at least 8 colors from light&dark green,yellows and whites. I also have a black work bird on the inside of my wrist.That one is my own design,the wing is up, kinda shy like and the only color is his bright blue eye. I didn't get a chance to go in for my next one but it will be an opened zipper on the back of my calf.The zipper will be bursting with flowers,hearts and things,to soften the harshness of the zipper. I always said i would get just one but i changed my mind and now want the zipper and orange bubbles for the turtle as well as a symbol on the back of my neck and the other wrist with something with alot of color.     My port incision was indented but i never noticed that it looks just like a scar now(i had to turn around in my cubicle and look!) C

    Carbonation

    I don't know what the 'rules' are but i know that IF i have a diet pepsi it's only on the week end and i have to pour it out fast and let it sit for a bit.There is no way i could drink after a meal... only on an empty stomach.Beer, no matter if my stomach is empty, just foams in my esophagus and makes me want to puke:think SOOO i drink margueritas:Actually i haven't tried those since my last fill so i don't know how all that crushed ice will feel in my belly. This has only been happening once i got some restriction. Chantal

    Rant - Protecting us from ourselves

    That's too funny Donali!! I saw a show a few weeks ago about how people would crash parties,weddings ect and they would have hidden cameras and had to compete to make people beleive they belonged there.One girl had to make people believe she was hired by the family of the bride to read their auras and also dance with the brides father.Each stunt had a certain number of points,the more outrageous the stunt the more points!! Your uncle story kinda reminded of this...maybe rambling on without a point is contagious today LOL!!! C

    Why?

    Thanks and yes i have read it,it was very helpful.I know i need this kind of therapy and will look into eventually.I have learned so much from this board and don't know what i would do without you guys!! At times i've felt like i was weird and 'the only one' but i've come to realize that alot of us face the same circumstances and we all have different approaches to solving them or helping ourselves.It's awesome to get new ideas to try.I learned to choose water first,healthy food first and then if i still want not so good choices then i go ahead.This has helped me alot.The "should not eat it" foods(chips and junk) are not forbidden anymore which has made them less alluring.Now that i give myself permisssion to eat whatever i want i generally choose healthy food and if i don't then i still love me...imagine that! I have a looonnnggg way to go but i am closer than i started and smarter that when i started so i have already had success and accomlpished something good for me which is what keep me motivated. Hopefully one day i can totally stop the sabotage and accept fully that i deserve to love myself completly. Chantal

    Why?

    I have no idea why i do this...I constantly sabotage myself.As soon as I even think of eating healthy I eat all sorts of crap, ok a little of all sorts of crap.I wonder what's wrong with me?an apple,grapes,baby carrots they are wonderful and tasty but greasy, too salty chips with creamy dill pickle dip ,now why IS that tastier???? I am worried about a few things,how i will look after i lose weight? will the skin hang there?Can i live with that?i have no $$ for cosmetic surgery.I am almost bankrupt after this surgery! I wonder if i will finally be happy if i lose weight.What will i have to think about?I have been thinking about my weight since i was 16(went from 120 lbs to 230 in one year, thyroid and HUGE depression) I am afraid to lose weight i think.I know i need counselling and i hate when people complain and then make excuses why they can't help themselves, but i honestly do not have any spare time for therapy.I have 2 small children,full time job and i consider myself a single Mom even though my husband lives with us.(another story all together!!!)

    Fitday

    You should talk to your doctor about how much diificulty you are having eating.Honestly, you should not have to struggle to eat.A tiny unfill will help you lose weight since you'll be eating and it's so much fun eating a small salad and at least a 3 oz chicken breast and be comfortably full.You should be able to eat this in about 20 minutes.     Birdie... I would suggest you are too tight if this is a typical menu for you!!! As for fitday,put the smallest amount :for example, i typed pineapple it brought up a list,i picked pineaplle raw and chose the smallest slice.That option also has a cubic inch.You can also type .5 if it gives you a cup amount.For example 1 cup of lettuce is too much so type .5 and it will customize it. Birdie, you have to eat to be healthy!!You should be able to eat a 3 oz chicken beast and a small side salad and be comfortable!!! You are going to make yourself sick girlie!!! Now go eat something!!!!!:cool: Chantal

    Why?

    I have started tracking on fitday.com and i guess that i am not doing too bad.It has helped me see that the chips DO make all the difference. Now i think about it first,sometimes enter it BEFORE eating it and sometimes i'll grab a fruit or veg instead...sometimes not, but at least i know what i'm doing and how it will affect my calorie/fat/carb intake. I have lost 8 pounds in two weeks doing this!! Chantal

    Discouraged

    Drink lots!!!...at first it might seem like you lost restriction but after it becomes a habit you will seem full.I make sure i drink a HUGE glass right before leaving work so i can make it home without the rumblies. And the protein,veggies first is an EXCELLENT rule. You have to eat good food to lose weight. You also have to exercise to boost your metabolism but i think you already know this. The band will wait for you ALWAYS C

    Fun!!!

    I have been REALLY watching the food choices,not exercising yet but the weight is moving down and i am so happy!It's so fun and motivating for me when people tell me WOW! you are melting away.This morning the girls from the office are standing around me, gushing.Of course i am beet red but inside soooo happy! It helps that i FINALLY bought some smaller clothes.I think i am in denial.I feel like if i buy smaller i will gain and they will be too small(i know it won't but it used to always happen before) but gosh it's true! and if i keep up my end of this bargain i will succeed!:cool: Chantal

    I think that would be fine but some people can tolerate some things while others can't.Take tiny bites at first until you know that it won't get stuck.Lots of folks have issues with bread or breading. C

    There is not just soft fish and yes tuna would be ok...you might want to mix it with something though like mayo,don't worry about fat content just yet. Sole,haddock steamed with lemon,pureed chili,soft boiled eggs,mashed potatoes,yogurt,mashed carrots,mashed turnips. You can blend or mash anthing,just make sure there are no big lumps. C

    I don't think a few bites of mashed potatoes will hurt the band or you. Take it easy on yourself...you're almost there!!!!Thursday is two days away and it just gets easier from there:cool: C

    What are you eating

    yesterday i had: coffee w 2 cream and 1 sugar yogurt v-8 chicken breast grilled small salad ranch dressing coffee again and then an apple(no peel it gets stuck) pan fried sole(floured)4oz brocoli 4-5 florets corn about 1/3 cup 1 cup of 2% milk today i had: 1 med sized pancake w syrop 2 strawberries coffee cream and sugar greek salad,tomato,black olives and light feta (i had a frozen Pasta entree but not hungry) coffee chicken breast4 oz and baked potato for supper later
