Thanks so much for you guys input. When I had gallbladder surgery my older two were very helpful keeping the younger two busy. I'm thinking I might have snacks on hand and things they can make sandwiches with, simple things. As far as cleaning my kids are trained well, they know "momma don't play bout no nasty house" they even know how to do laundry. I was just worried about being completely incoherent and the possibilities of what could happen, kids will be kids. Thanks again guys!

Thank heavens I've had mine removed before having vsg, that is some unbearable pain.

Ultimately weight loss depends on the individual. Each surgery is a tool and my goals are up to me and how much hard work I put into it. I do not dare go into this expecting my sleeve to be my "cure all". My sister had the sleeve done May 2011 and has lost 120 lbs and still losing, trying to stop actually. I myself would love to lose 170lbs and realize I have everything to do with that. I think regardless which surgery you decide upon you will be pleased with the results of either. As far as taking peoples opinions as negativity, I encourage bloggers to accept and embrace each persons opinion as just that and take it personally realizing their opinion is there reality and that is why this forum is so popular in the WLS community. Thanks Emily I am doing my mthly weigh ins with my pcp not my surgery. I too have to pay 500 to my surgeon the week before surgery. I hope I don't have to do any other testing. Actually I'm doing my surgical clearance appt with my pcp tmw. Then, 4 appts in July and I should be able to submit. Surgeons office said typically takes two weeks for approval.

Hoping for mid August, I have 2nd weigh in Thursday, meet with surgeon 7/5, have psych eval, and nut assessment on 7/18, and last weigh in on 7/24.

Cool I was thinking about doing it about a month prior, I really wanna be under 300lbs by surgery which hopefully will be August sometime.

I am going to my second weigh in with my pcp Thursday. Im plan on seeing my surgeon on 7/5, I've scheduled my psych and nut assessment for 7/18. I was waiting to schedule those appts for further down the line cause they are sort of expensive butttttt since Cigna changed from 6mo to 3 mo supervised weightloss I am rushing to get everything done so I can go in sometime in Aug.

I feel kind of rushed now because I thought I had to do six months but Cigna recently changed to 3 months, yay! Next month I will close out with last weigh in, psych eval, and nutrition assessment. What questions did you ask, forget to ask, or wish you had discussed with your surgeon?

Right on with all of that.......but can't wait to cross my legs, touch my toes and ride my husband care free (i know TMI) but being real. Want him to pick me up during ***! He's really in shape and I can't wait to be able to run miles at a time with him.

Hopefully I will be getting sleeved mid August as well, thanks to Cignas insurance changes, this will be a great birthday present for me. 2nd weigh in is Thursday!

Where are you in your journey?

Yes I called Cigna today to confirm that it is now 3 months as opposed to six, I was overjoyed! Go for second monthly weigh in Thursday, now I have to hurry and make my appointments for my psych eval. and nutrition assessment. Did you guys have to fulfill any other requirements aside from the ones listed by cigna? Also, how did you guys who are post op deal with your copays, deductibles, and out of pocket before surgery?

Oooooh girl if I was close to you I would kiss you! I called Cigna and they confirmed, I was losing hope that I wouldn't make it six months I am ecstatic!

Has anyone lost over 120 lbs and not need any cosmetic surgery?
