October 16th is my day as long as i lose my 13 lbs. 32 y/o mom of 4 ages 10, 8 6 and 4 (nov.). Surgeon is Dr. George Woodman in Memphis

Finished all ins req in July then had pre op testing and class req by surgeon, and finally surgery date set for October 16th but gotta lose 13 pounds before surgery. Does anyone have to lose weight prior to surgery? What are your plans to do so, help!

Congratulations, i called every day as well was sent in Monday before last and got approved seven days later.

Cigna took 6 days to approve my surgery. i called everyday after it was submitted.

Congrats, and so happy to say I was approved as well! It took 6 days for approval. I have pre-op testing chest x ray, abdominal ultrasound and ekg on the 23rd and egd on 28th. Looking at early september....yay!

Did anyone begin pre-op, or liquid diet a month or more before surgery?

I have to lose 10lbs as well before surgery and don't have a pre-op diet.....I'm thinking straight liquids until surgery, when I get my surgery which should be fairly soon. All the best to you all. [ATTACH]4128[/ATTACH]

That's bananas, I would have had to tell them to report back to the nearest training facility....do not pass go, until they were more familiar with their duties.

Right behind you last requirement, nutrition assessment, on 7/31 then off too insurance for approval. I just woke up from dreaming about my surgery, does anyone else dream about this stuff? Sometimes I just gotta disconnect from all things weight loss in fear I'm gonna go insane. Can't wait to have this life saving surgery. I don't think there is anymore I can research at this point. I am having my last required appointment on July 31 then will submit to insurance. I have Cigna and surgeons office coordinator says she's confident I'll be approved given my bmi and co-morb's. Surgeon requires at least a 10lb loss before surgery, or he'll cancel, however I have a personal goal of losing 30-40 lbs before hand, really want to be under 300 lbs before surgery. I don't have a surgery date but based on what the surgeon said "you schedule your appointment as far out as you think it'll take for you to lose the 10lbs", I'm saying surgery will take place around mid to late August. What pre-op diets for you guys have resulted in significant weightloss? Let me say I absolutely can't drink the milky substances, they make me gag something aweful. Is it unreasonable or impossible for me to think I'll be able to sustain on a liquid diet for 3 or 4 weeks? Please give me some advice.
