Robbino Feel free to add me -
1) There's extra room to move and cross my legs in the movie theatre seats. 2) Planning a parasailing adventure on spring break in a few weeks. Never dreamed that would happen. 3) I enjoy taking long hot baths again, now that my hips aren't hugging the sides of the tub.

You look fantastic! I'm so glad you decided to post. We had close starting weights and my surgery was a week later than yours (25th). It helps me a lot to see others progress. Keep up the good work! -
I used chantix to quit. It worked for me. Three years smoke free and I had been a smoker for 24 years.

New guy here, you've GOT to read this!
Robbino replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Please do reconsider! I had my surgery Oct 25, 2012, and it has already changed my outlook on life. I had my surgery in Mexico, without incident and have already lost 60 lbs! I'm recovering well and have had no problems outside the minor discomforts in the begining while learning the limitations of my new sleeve. I believe most everyone on this forum has good intentions, I also believe there are some who either don't realize or just don't care how their posts come off. I hate the though that some opinions or bad experiences have turned people away from what could be a new life for them. It's good to know the risks of any surgery. This surgery is a very personal decision that has had a positive outcome for the majority of people that have elected to have it. Please research and talk to people. Get as much information you can and make the decision that's best for you based on more than a few negative experiences or opinions on this forum. Frank, best of luck on your new sleeve and lifestyle changes! If you aren't already using My Fitness Pal, give it a try! It helps me stay accountable for what I put in my mouth, and my MFP crew are the most supportive and encouraging group I have. Feel free to add me too, Robbino. -

You're not alone. I had to stop making cookies and cashew brittle because I couldn't stop nibbling. I'm very thankful for my sleeve this holiday season, or no doubt I would be over indulging. Don't beat yourself up. Tomorrow is a new day. -

Pre surgery wt was less than current. I'm guessing that's a typo? Regardless, you look amazing! How long ago were you sleeved? -

update: I was sleeved 10/25. As of today I have lost a total of 54 lbs. I started at 324, lost 12 pre-op, and 42 lbs. since surgery. I'm now at 270 lbs. I hit stalls at weeks 3 and 6 where I didn't lose for 7 days straight both times. I've also started exercising. I'm not seeing the scale move as much, but I can tell clothes are fitting differently. Really wishing I had taken measurements. I also use and recommend MFP or something similar, and log everything. The accountability factor helps a great deal. -

Week 1 Down 22 Lbs & Not Excited
Robbino replied to deedeemuffin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think I understand what you're feeling. I went through something similar. Sometimes it just takes a little time for your thoughts and emotions to catch up and accept what's really happening to your body. Once you see you're not only keeping that 22lbs off but even more, and you accept that it's permanent, you'll be fine. Don't be down on yourself just because you're not feeling what you think you should be, or what someone else says you should. The emotional journey can be tough. Allow yourself time to adapt. -
All Dr. Garcia's Sleeved Patients, Please Give Your Weightloss Amounts And Timeframes.....thanks!

One thing I found helpful was an extention cord for my phone and lap top. Definately bring your own broth or bouillon cubes. Milly gave me a care package at the hospital with ear plugs in it, which helped with the noisy nurses station outside my door. -

Honey, we started out at the same weight. I'm only three weeks out and am down 35lbs. Are you on MFP by chance? I'd love to add you if so. I'm Robbino on there as well. You've done remarkably well, considering your exercise limitations because of your foot. I'm just now starting to walk and do some light toning. I don't want to push it too early but I'd like to start taking some Zumba classes again after Thanksgiving.

I'm three weeks post op today and have started exercising. I have found that exercise in general is such a great release. Try going for a walk or doing some type of physical exercise when you feel the urge to splurge. It's going to be a struggle for a while for me because I was such an emotional eater all my life, but ultimately the overall goal is to replace those bad habits with healthy ones. SO thankful for my sleeve to help me accomplish my goals!

WTG on the WL, weezer! I feel you on the strangeness of the amount of food we eat. Im three weeks post op and every day when I log MFP I get the warning I'm eating too few calories and could go into starvation mode. I look at the recommended 1200 calories and just laugh. -
